a girl's night out ((Tag victor))

April is not quite sure what to wear right now. She has plans for a "Girl's Night Out" with Victor Allen and Lorne. There is still a big part of her that is uneasy about celebrating, for any reason. But tonight is about finding peace in what she experienced. And bond with someone else who felt the same pain and torment.

She decides on a simply gray dress, with a white boa around the color and pearls in her hair. She PINs to the Nexus, to a place where she is to meet Victor and Lorne. The green skinned demon was more than excited about the new adventure. And he was already awaiting her arrival with a big grin.

April listens for a moment, sensing those around them as they connect to the music. "I can see why."

"Yeah," she says, chilling out, letting the saxophone get saxophoney, sipping little sips to avoid brain freeze, and just... mellowing.

Lorne smiles, placing out an arm over each woman's shoulder. He can sense them mellowing a little. And is glad for it.

"This is a perfect place to relax." He purred.

April just chuckled softly.

She leans her head against Lorne's shoulder, breathes out slowly, following the notes, like she's mentally highlighting them.

Lorne softly sings along with a few of the songs. April just cocks her head when he does. For another person, who can see auras, she can see his song mixing in the air with the main jazz tune.

Vic just watches, and sips, as the music goes on its musicky way. It's one of those moments where it's okay to be silent.

After a couple of songs, and a couple of quiet sips of their drinks, Lorne breaths softly. "Ladies, I must ask... how are you handling everything?"

April pauses at her glass. "Still all jumbled."

"Pretty jacked up. Spendng time on the bird-people planet is helpin', though. Becoming one with my tribe, again. But, like, I just see a kid and I start crying, no matter what species. And the nightmares, and, anyway. Yeah."

[slayers_desire]

"You have a tribe? Of bird people?" Lorne sounded amazed.

April sets her hands on her stomach and holds back tears for a moment. She doesn't want to think of her nightmares right now. So instead, listens to the conversation at hand.

"Well, I mean, unofficially. They kinda accepted me into their tribe. I, um. I was on a visit, and they invited me to a hatching ceremony, and I saw that, um, not a lot of eggs were hatching, and older bird-folks were hunched, but they weren't even very old. And nearly everyone had some sorta broken bone. So, I, ah--I figured out that they weren't getting the calcium they needed from their diet. They were transplants to that world, and over countless generations they were just gettin' weaker and weaker. I got them supplements right away, and started on finding and getting plants for them that would correct things."

[slayers_desire]

"That is amazing. I would have been awed to watch your mind at work. Ticking. Tocking. Singing." Lorne smiled.

"Are they getting better now?" April asks.

"They are! It's amazing how many eggs hatch now. I'm learnin' some of their language, and their songs. They're great people."

[slayers_desire]

"You must take me there some time. To listen to them sing." Lorne squeezed her hand lightly.

"Actual eggs and everything?" April asked.

[victormakesart]

"Totally. Yeah. I, it's actually where I activated Jude, at one of the hatching ceremonies."

[slayers_desire]

"What was it like, to sort of give life to another being?" This is a very important question to April.

[victormakesart]

"It's terrifying. I put off activating him for the longest time. I bet it's better to do it biologically, because your body does what it's programmed to do. When you're programming by hand, it's like, you never know, you can run a million simulations and you... you just don't know, even if you programmed everything right, he might still just be a robot and not a person."

[slayers_desire]

"I am terrified about giving birth." April whispers softly. "About something going wrong."

"This child is such a fragile thing that I am carrying."

[victormakesart]

"I feel like... things'll go alright. You have a medical team that'll go to the ends of the earth for you, I can even have a healer or two standin' by. Nothing bad is gonna happen to you."

[slayers_desire]

"I still feel nervous. Almost sick about it at times..." April paused. "Speaking of which... we should find out why I got sick touching Kryptonite. And if the baby is sensitive to it."

[victormakesart]

"It's totally natural to feel that way. It's okay to be scared. But me and Clark... we'll do everything we can to make you as comfortable as we can. As for the k... it might be, like... some sort of leaking--no, no, that's not the right word, lllltransference, no, that's not right, either. Anyway, what I'm tryin' to say is that it's probably because you're having a half-kryptonian baby, and you're an empath."

"Clark and I are making plans, just in case we run into that bad guy again. The one who started this all. You should be involved."

[victormakesart]

"What do you two have so far?"

[slayers_desire]

"I suggested that Clark has to think outside the box, since they both would have the same powers."

The nice thing about this conversation is that Lorne is so engrossed in the music, that their conversation is virtually private.

"Maybe something that amounts to magical grenades? It looks kinda useless, but if he tosses it over, it does... something."

[slayers_desire]

"Magic would be good. The alternate Clark would be vulnerable to it... but not expect it."

"I could teach you some spells. If you want."
