future!verse: the return of Hawkman

After years of waiting for the return of a lost friend, Prince Khufu was back. He did not have all of his memories back, but they were returning. And he remembered saving April.

He had first met with Laura in the Nexus. April was able to confirm that Kaidan Hill was the new incarnation of Hawkman. Of Prince Khufu.

There was a lot of information to share with Kaidan. And April felt it was best at the farm house. And so took him, and her daughter back to the farm with her.

She carefully watches Kaiden. The last time he was at the farm, he was Carter and he had fought to the death to save her life.

"No imposition. I enjoy cooking."

[younghawks]

"You sure it won't be weird? Your old friend hanging around with a new face?" He knows he's not quite the same. Not yet. Maybe not ever. He's had different experiences, became his own person before the ancient memories ever resurfaced.

[slayers_desire]

"Khufu. I have waited years to see you again. I will like to spend more time with you. But if you are weirded out by this... I would understand."

[younghawks]

"I'm more weirded out by myself. That's not really something I can get away from."

[slayers_desire]

"That is something I am sure you can talk about with Jon. Anytime. Your friendship will only get stronger."

[younghawks]

"And you?" he asks. After all, she knew him before. "Can you tell me more about... well, me?"

[slayers_desire]

"I am always your friend."

"Well when you first met me, you called me kid. It iritated me. I didn't think that you respected me."

[younghawks]

"I think I remember that... you were younger than me."

[slayers_desire]

"I was younger than you. But it was also the fact that you had a soul that was centuries old."

"Clark and I met you and learned about the Justice Society of America. You and Doctor Fate." A small sad smile.

"You fought with us against General Zod. And then, a few months into my pregnancy, you started having visions of seeing your wife. And you told Clark and I that you were going to die."

[younghawks]

"And then I did. At least you got warning I guess."

[slayers_desire]

"Death is never easy. I knew you would come back, but still mourned you."

[younghawks]

"Well... here I am."

[slayers_desire]

"And I am glad." April places a hand on his shoulder.

"Clark will be home for supper."

[younghawks]

"It's going to be a bit weird seeing him again... things have changed a lot since we knew each other."

[slayers_desire]

"You are now friends with his son. Whom I can also call over for supper, if you wish."

[younghawks]

"Let's hold off on that... I want to get my own head on straight before I start messing with his."

[slayers_desire]

"Then it will just be the six of us. Seven if William is home tonight."

[younghawks]

"That sounds pretty hectic. Six kids... I don't know if I ever had that many."

[slayers_desire]

"We always wanted a big family. After William, I was unable to carry a child again. So we adopted. First the twins. Then Martha."

[younghawks]

"Martha? I thought that was Clark's mother." He's not sure if his memories are confused or if this is just a coincidence.

[slayers_desire]

"All of our children have names that are special to us. Even the twins, who were named before we met them."

"Jon after Clark's dad. Laura after Clark's real mom. William after my dad. Martha after Clark's mom."

[younghawks]

"And... the twins?"

[slayers_desire]

"Drake and Dru. Dru was the name of my mother."

[younghawks]

"That's a lot of coincidences. Not the ones you named, but the ones you adopted, I mean. Unless that's why you picked them?"

[slayers_desire]

"We wouldn't pick the children on their names... I just think it was destiny. Drake and Dru needed us. They are telepathic."

"And Martha... completed our family."
