OOC Note: not sure if this is Alicia or Chloe in the picture I found. But since it is a blond, I am using it as April for this Future!Verse fic

During the later stages of her pregnancy, April had to stay at home more often. Which meant lots of friends and family coming over to visit and help keep her connected to the world around her. This meant both friends that she made in Smallville, and of course those Nexus friends who had stayed in her life since her first arrival to the Multiverse.
Of course one of April's favorite things was to drag out the photo albums. Go through pictures of prom night, or those pictures that were taken at graduation, and family photos of the Kents, and that one family photo with Evan in it. And of all the albums that she had collected over the years, her favorite to look through again and again was the wedding album.
It had been a simple affair, with their closest friends and family. It was held outside, as April felt uncomfortable in churches. Of course, with the nature of their relationship, April could have asked for the most extravagant wedding in the world, and Clark would have done everything in his power to give it to her. But that was not April's nature. So the wedding was something that would make them both happy, held under a beautiful blooming oak tree. Their symbol. The recurring image that they both used to get through the tough times.
It had taken place at a time when both Clark and April were ready for that stage in their life. Clark was becoming a hero to those in Metropolis and other stretches of the world. There were not many at that time who knew that hero as Clark, but there were enough loyal friends that did know his secret to supply him with a strong support group. As for April, she was an adviser and leader to many in her own universe. Helping those who need it most, so they could change the world for the better from her wise words.
The other thing that should be noted about the wedding was that it was held in the evening. So that April's father could give her away. The father-daughter relationship had gotten stronger over the years. And it made her so happy to have Spike there.
Of course there were small tokens observed at the wedding to mark missing friends and family. Those that would always be in Clark and April's hearts as they moved towards starting their own family and a new life together. And the other wonderful thing was how normal the wedding turned out to be. There was no dire emergency that Clark had to answer, or call for advice for April. It was their night to always remember. That still brought happy tears to her face when she pulled out the photo album (especially with pregnancy hormones).
To look back on their lives together and reflect that it had all started with a question about destiny always made April chuckle. It seemed that in addition to embracing important parts of their own destinies, that Clark and April proved that they could make their own destinies too. That what they had together was special and unique and worth every step of the way.
It would not be long before their lives took on new challenges too, with the child that was to be born. But the one thing that April was confident about was that together they could face those challenges, and build a happy life for their growing family. That a part of them would always live forever in the heart, soul and strength of their child.
