distractions for an concerned Watcher
For the most part, the last week of training with Rain had gone as normal, and the only thing out-of-ordinary had been the invitation to supper with April's mother. And it had been the conversation over the dinner table that sparked a little worry for April, knowing that her mother had to deal with threats from someone wishing her harm in Gotham.
Harley had urged that April just continue with her life as usual and not put any more thought into the news. Something that was easier said than done.
So to distract herself today, April thought that it was a good time to invite Nate over, and have him spar a little with Rain. At least it was better than sitting around and worrying -- which she had been doing for the last couple of moments while Rain meditated. So she send Nate a text message and hoped that he would soon respond and arrive.

"Rain is just finishing meditating. I will go get him." She walked towards the meditation room.

For them, the maze seemed to grow darker. The shadow body melted into the ground, creating thick shadows everywhere. There was no sign of flags or much else. But for Rain, there was a sense of something wicked in the maze.

Rain felt something. His stomach turned a bit. He could usually tell when something bad was about.
"Follow me. There's something else in here with us." he starts walking with Nate following behind.

In the maze, the shadows danced at their feet, as if coming alive with some sort of otherworld presence. Both Rain and Nate could feel a strange sensation tug at the soles of their feet. As if their own shadows yearned to be free with the others.

"You were meant to ensure that so many others did not die in the same way that we did, Rain." His mother said. "As long as you continue to live, our memories are with you."

Rain felt the gentle caress of his parent's touch on his hair and his face. "Who says we can not stay?"
