distractions for an concerned Watcher
For the most part, the last week of training with Rain had gone as normal, and the only thing out-of-ordinary had been the invitation to supper with April's mother. And it had been the conversation over the dinner table that sparked a little worry for April, knowing that her mother had to deal with threats from someone wishing her harm in Gotham.
Harley had urged that April just continue with her life as usual and not put any more thought into the news. Something that was easier said than done.
So to distract herself today, April thought that it was a good time to invite Nate over, and have him spar a little with Rain. At least it was better than sitting around and worrying -- which she had been doing for the last couple of moments while Rain meditated. So she send Nate a text message and hoped that he would soon respond and arrive.

Yah I stole it from Kindgom Hearts. The creature seemed to be still for the moment. As if waiting for something.no subject

Rain would not know that Nate was gone. All he saw was darkness. And the strange cries of someone in trouble deeper within.

"But maybe he is not ready... maybe it is my fault."
It was like Rain was walking in the Shadows. There was nothing to feel or see. The cries slowly got louder as he walked to them. They sounded feminine.

"If he's not ready it's his own fault. Practice makes perfect."

There was soft glow from ahead of him, where a small form was huddled and crying.

((Gonna put Nate aside now until something happens where you want him to respond. he'll just watch))

The small child looked up at Rain. The Slayer would have some sense of familiarity with this small male. "I am afraid of the dark..."

"The Slayers... like Rain... have a lot to be accountable for." April stood to get Nate a bag of ice from the freezer. And a beer. Because it seemed appropriate.
The closer that Rain got to the little boy, the more connected he felt. "Can you make the darkness go away?"

Rain might note that the boy glowed slightly when he comforted the child. "Thank you..."

The boy nodded, "That would be nice."
