distractions for an concerned Watcher
For the most part, the last week of training with Rain had gone as normal, and the only thing out-of-ordinary had been the invitation to supper with April's mother. And it had been the conversation over the dinner table that sparked a little worry for April, knowing that her mother had to deal with threats from someone wishing her harm in Gotham.
Harley had urged that April just continue with her life as usual and not put any more thought into the news. Something that was easier said than done.
So to distract herself today, April thought that it was a good time to invite Nate over, and have him spar a little with Rain. At least it was better than sitting around and worrying -- which she had been doing for the last couple of moments while Rain meditated. So she send Nate a text message and hoped that he would soon respond and arrive.

There was soft glow from ahead of him, where a small form was huddled and crying.

((Gonna put Nate aside now until something happens where you want him to respond. he'll just watch))

The small child looked up at Rain. The Slayer would have some sense of familiarity with this small male. "I am afraid of the dark..."

"The Slayers... like Rain... have a lot to be accountable for." April stood to get Nate a bag of ice from the freezer. And a beer. Because it seemed appropriate.
The closer that Rain got to the little boy, the more connected he felt. "Can you make the darkness go away?"

Rain might note that the boy glowed slightly when he comforted the child. "Thank you..."

The boy nodded, "That would be nice."

The boy wrapped his arms around Rain, the glow getting brighter. There was also two soft glows far off in the darkness, one coming from the north, the other from the south. The boy looked up at Rain, "You promise?"

Rain might note that the lights were both coming towards him. The boy looked up, "I think... it is my parents. They are coming to find me."

The glow from the north and the south got closer. Both the lights took human form. As they got closer, the one to the north appeared more and more male. The one to the south appeared more and more female, and was holding a female infant.
It was when they were within talking distance, that Rain would finally relize his connection to the young male child. It was his parents that were walking towards him. His father, from the north. And his mother, holding his younger sister, who had come from the south. And in his arms... was his younger self.

"Mom?... Dad? Eve?" He blinked back some tears that seemed to be coming from nowhere.
