valentine's day is a time for lovers

For April, during her 800-years of training with the Masters, she had never really given much thought to special holidays. Birthdays, Christmas, or even Valentine's Day. But now that she is with Rain, there is going to be a celebration of their love today, in commemoration of Valentine's Day.

The day will start off simple enough, with a break from training for Rain. Which might be appreciated, after a week of training, and slaying (which has improved even further). But this is not unusually for a Sunday, because it is often a day of rest for the Slayer at the end of each week.

The thing that makes today special, in a romantic way, will be presented closer to evening. When it is time for supper, and Rain will discover that April has set out a picnic blanket and an assortment of romantic foods, including strawberries, chocolate, oysters and whipped cream.

Tonight, April is wearing a seductive animal-print dress, and has the lighting of the room down low. An assortment of candles will give them enough light to eat by. And there is soft music playing in the background.

Rain is indeed surprised when he walks in. He looks around with a sheepish grin. "What's this?" as if he couldn't figure it out on his own.

"For Valentine's Day. Join me?"

"Weeellllll. If I must." he teases, walking over to give her a kiss.

"I could just enjoy all this by myself." She teases back, returning the kiss.

"But would you? You've got such a sexy boyfriend, it would be a hard to enjoy ANYTHING in life without him." he smiles.

"It would be hard to enjoy myself without him. Shame he doesn't seem to exhibit the same struggles." She holds up a strawberry.

"Whoa.. say what?" he hoped she was kidding. He took a bite of the berry.

She is teasing, because he teased first. Her fingers caress his cheek as he takes a bite from the strawberry. "I have not celebrated a holiday in a long time. I hope I did good."

"Are you kidding me baby?" He kissed her long, slowly and romantically. "This is wonderful. I've never had anyone do this for me before."

"I'm not a computer. You can't just switch out my chips." he joked, rubbing his thumbs hard into the soles of her feet to relieve tension.

"Mmmmm.... speaking of computers... later this week I will have a new training session set up for you." April is able to relax again, not worrying about talking about Rain's destiny.

"With computers? No need, I'm an expert hacker."

"No. With a cyborg."

"Say what?" he cocked his head. "Cyborgs aren't real, technology hasn't evolved to that point yet. Unless it's supernatural in origin.... is it?"

"Actually... Nexus, my love. I met a cyborg after a recent question that I posed. We got to talking... and he owed me a favor. So I asked if he would be willing to help you train."

"His strength and abilities would be very close to the Master that you will have to Slay."

"He owed you a favor? For what?"

"Wait, you mean to tell me this Master is as strong as a machine? How is this going to be a good test, I can't kill the guy."

"For detailing the advantages and disadvantages of the Nexus to him."

"It will be a good test, because at least you will be able to strengthen yourself to defeat Nate... the cyborgs name... in battle. And then in the field, being about to defeat the Master will lead you to slaying him."

"You miht remember Buffy was actually killed by her first Master."

Rain accepted the strawberry, dropping the thought from his mind. "You're way overdressed."

"Oh hell yes." He says, his hands going to the hips of her dress and pulling it up, then sliding it up over her head.
