valentine's day is a time for lovers

For April, during her 800-years of training with the Masters, she had never really given much thought to special holidays. Birthdays, Christmas, or even Valentine's Day. But now that she is with Rain, there is going to be a celebration of their love today, in commemoration of Valentine's Day.

The day will start off simple enough, with a break from training for Rain. Which might be appreciated, after a week of training, and slaying (which has improved even further). But this is not unusually for a Sunday, because it is often a day of rest for the Slayer at the end of each week.

The thing that makes today special, in a romantic way, will be presented closer to evening. When it is time for supper, and Rain will discover that April has set out a picnic blanket and an assortment of romantic foods, including strawberries, chocolate, oysters and whipped cream.

Tonight, April is wearing a seductive animal-print dress, and has the lighting of the room down low. An assortment of candles will give them enough light to eat by. And there is soft music playing in the background.

Returning the kiss, April moved slightly into his lap. "I love you so much Rain. You are the first thing I think of when I awaken and the last thing I think of when I sleep."

"It is all right, Rain. I know it is a lot to learn at one time. Me... I had several centuries of learning. And I had hoped to introduce you to our shared destiny at a slower pace..."

"But I could not bear seeing you in such a state of self-doubt."

"I guess I'm just realizing I'm not superman. I was so good at everything before all of this. Track and Field, lifeguarding and now I'm doing new things and occasionally fucking up.. mildly, but still fucking up and it's thrown me a bit."

"You are not Superman?" April gasped. She kissed him again.

"Hard to believe, I knmmmmm." he's cut off by the kiss.

"Good. Superman would be too much to live up to. I am glad that I am in love with Rain." She slides her hands up his shirt.

"He's got Lois and she's ordinary compared to you. I think I'm lucky I got to you before he did." he smiles at her.

"It would not have mattered. I would have still been hopelessly head-over-heels in love as soon as met you." The shirt is being removed now. Sneaky April.

"Really? You'd have picked me over a perfect specimen like Superman? Maybe we should get your mom to check your psyche." he teased, moving his arms so she could take off the shirt. He liked Sneaky April.

Sneaky April has now thrown away the shirt. "Rain is better for my psyche. Superman would be too goody-goody to make me his pet, ever."

"You do seem to enjoy that." he grins, kissing her forehead. "We play fun games, don't we?"

"That is one of the important things about our relationship, my love, we have fun." April runs her hands up his naked chest.

"I couldn't handle being with a total bore." he replied seriously. "I'd go completely bat-shit."

"Though seducing one... like a uptight librarian or something..." April was full of ideas.

Then it dawned on him. ".... Ohhhhhh... right." he said. "We've never roleplayed before, I wasn't thinking."

The fact that it had never occurred to him was very adorable. And he was rewarded with a kiss. "You must have other stuff on your mind."

"I guess I just picture librarians as old, and you'll never look old." he grins. "If I make it to my fifties I'll be the envy of every man my age."

"And we will have people wondering about the cute 19-year-old with the 50-year-old man." April teased. Sneaking open his pants now.

"I won't be hot anymore I'm sure." He wouldn't blame her if she didn't stick around although it would hurt. He really shouldn't think about these things, he was likely to die very young anyway. He arched his hips up a bit to give her easier access.

Sliding off his pants, and they joined where his shirt had been thrown. April offered him another strawberry.

"I wouldn't worry about it."
