dinner date with Clark
April was still up on Cloud Nine, after she and Clark had started to officially be girlfriend and boyfriend. And tonight, she had a thought that since their 'first date' had been not quite real due to a de-aging LOL that she would make him dinner for an official first date.
The menu was simple enough, because even though April looked to cook and create, she still had inherited some unfortunate cooking accidents from her mother. She had selected Italian-flavored dishes to serve tonight. Shrimp and Pesto Linguine, Mushroom and Onion Frittata, and Strawberry bellini for dessert.
The dishes were light enough for summer time, easy enough to follow, and were smelling quite delicious by the time April had set the table. Also set at the table, on Clark's plate, was a small gift-wrapped package.
All that remained was to wait for Clark to arrive.

She offers him the strawberry again. "Then dine away."

She is awfully tempted to 'accidentally' squirt Clark with the whipped cream. And the glint remains in her eyes as she offers him the next strawberry.

But she will behave for the next couple of strawberries. Until the plate is finished. "Lovely. Company and dinner both."

"How about a nice movie? I have plenty for you to select from, while I tend to the cleaning up." She sits up from her 'seat'.

He gets up and goes to look at her selection.

After finishing with the plates, April heads over to the couch to see what Clark had picked out. She approaches from behind, wrapping her arms around his waist and resting her chin on his shoulder. "And Clark's top pick of the night is?"

Once they're both seated, Clark puts his arm across the back of the couch behind her head. Not quite cuddling, but he's definitely within grabbing distance.

The movie is interesting. April doesn't typically jump at most scary parts (like most girls might). It is actually the part when the heros of the movie get the soldier base, and they discover their true intentions that unnerves her.
And when it comes to Jim's potential execution, and what the soldiers plan to do with the girls -- Clark will have an April holding onto him.

He's seen this movie before back home, but some of the actors are different. And the sight of soldiers of any kind unnerves him, especially given the nature of the ones in the film, so he's holding her right back during those scenes.
And when Jim goes on his rampage, deep inside the colder part of Clark feels satisfaction in watching him take revenge.

Held in his arms, comforted by his strength, April can almost sense the colder part of Clark. It is a part of him, just as much as her Beast is a part of her. (And she is so ignoring the Beasts inner thirst for rampaging).
The movie may not be one of those that give hope to the watcher by the end. And April is just glad that they are watching it together. And nuzzles him when the credits roll.

"Oh. And an perfect toned body. Curse his alien genes."
Clark asked for the works, with flirting back.

"Two more guesses, before I earn my prize."

"Well," he says, pretending to think. "It can't be Warrior Angel unless he's wearing a wig. And where would you hide a superhero in your apartment?"
