When it came to dating, it was nice to have time alone with Clark. But really, they weren't able to socialize with other couples because in his world it would mean keeping too many secrets. So today April had an idea.

She arranged for a table for four at a nice diner that had a beautiful view of the Tiber River. And close by, there was an alleyway that would allow privacy for those with PINpoint to arrive for the lunch. After that was all arranged, April sent out two invitations.

To Kairos: Hey Kairos, I would like to invite you and Connor to a lunch with me and Clark. PINpoint coordinates are attached. It is a nice casual event. I hope you can attend.

Then to Clark: Hey sweetie. I thought it would be nice to spend some time with another couple who met in the Nexus. I have invited Kairos and Connor to lunch, and would love you at my side. PINpoint coordinates are attached. See you soon!

With that done, all that is left is to wait.

Clark's heard some of April's story before, so he concentrates mostly on eating while he listens. "Her friends sound pretty capable. I haven't met any of them yet, but judging by the sparring room, they can handle themselves."

"An assortment of martial weapons. Swords, katanas, axes, and some with magically enchanted. Clark and I had sparred with those weapons before."

The pizza is almost completely gone. April figured it was time for dessert. And calling the waiter over, she ordered eight cannolis.

"Cool. John's offered to teach me how to shoot a gun and use a sword.. but.." Kairos shrugs. "I get the feeling I'd slice or shoot off a hand or something."

((deepest apologies. Still sick.))

Connor pushes back his plate a little, looking thoughtful. "I've already got one student from the Nexus, but I could take others. I'm not a nice teacher," He smiles, and it's not a nice smile, "But I know how to use a sword."

"I'm not really a weapon-user either," Clark says to Kairos. "I'm more of a hands-on sort of guy." He can use a sword, as he and April both know, but he's not trained at it at all and relies a lot on his invulnerability in combat.

"I was sort of trained by the Demons who raised me. But I am no where on the same level as Buffy. Or my father. Or even you Connor."

"I had one self defense class with the Aristans before I wound up in Louisiana. I was taught some ... tricks by Savitar and his buddies, but for the most part.." she smiles a little bit. "The only weapons I have are 'kill them with kindness' and, you know, tornadoes."

"I'm only as good as I have to be to survive." He shrugs, showing some modesty, and gives Kairos a sheepish smile. "Tornadoes are pretty effective."

Clark is curious. "Tornadoes? Like... little personal tornadoes that you can control and direct, or just overall weather pattern disruption?"

April too seemed interested in learning more.

"Yes," she says, opening her palm to reveal a small - maybe three inches tall - tornado forming. She lets it drop onto the table, where it swirls about, rattling some of the silverware and napkins on the table. It doesn't manage to actually hit anything, though, and after a moment it dies down.

"I can handle natural ones, too, except those tend to include a storm." Nature-made are supposed to be harder to control, considering their wildness, but Kairos hasn't ever had a problem with those.

Connor's just as glad to have the focus off himself, and he's seen a few small displays of her power before now, so he just sits back and smiles faintly in admiration.

Clark's impressed, and he watches the teensy tornado with a faint smile. It's a much better exercise of power than he normally gets to see in Smallville. "That must come in handy."

"Those are very awesome Kairos." April had never seen a tornado in real life before and was amused at the tiny ones.

"Aww, thanks! The energy in the big ones are .. scary but amazing."

"I've only seen a natural one once... luckily not up close." Because he'd probably survive that, but it wouldn't be pleasant.

Clark, who lives in the very center of Tornado Alley, knows the big tornadoes intimately inside and out. "I had to jump into a tornado once, to save a friend who was caught in her truck. It was scarily powerful."

"I could never imagine having such force or power around you. Your friend must have been terrified." April shivers. "The closest natural force I have been close to was an inactive volcano."

Kairos will just nod. "They're pretty terrifying."

"Are natural disasters any worse than the man-made ones?" He's had more experience with those, after fighting in a few wars too many.

"She was," Clark tells April. "But I got her through it with only cuts and bruises." Which was nothing short of miraculous, Clark's powers notwithstanding. He had pinned Lana to the floor of the truck, covering her body with his own, even as the vicious winds ripped the vehicle into shrapnel around them. And all before he ever learned to fly.

With Connor's question about man-made disasters, April thought it would be wise to take the conversation in a new direction.

"Did you guys want to see the Colliseum when we are done here?"

((Major apologies. I was at the hospital with my mom for the past 48 hours.))

"Sounds like fun. I'm up if everyone else is." Pause. Pause pause. "And if you don't need to take a nap," she teases, quietly to Connor.

((Yikes! Is she okay? Are you?))

One eyebrow goes up, and he puts on a scowl, but she's probably started to learn the subtle hints that it's just for show. His eyes look amused. "You calling me a tired old man?"

((No need to apologize! D: Is everything okay?))

"That does sound fun," Clark agrees. "I didn't get to see much up close the last time I was here."
