Vampire with a Soul

Its Christmas for the Nexus, but it is August for April. And quite close to her wedding. So gifts to her friends serve a dual purpose. They are both Christmas gifts, and thank you gifts for those who are in her wedding party.

For Connor, in thanks of agreeing to walk her down the aisle, he receives an anvil necklace. April might not work in steel the same way he does, but this was also handmade.

For Kairos, Alice, Adia and Chloe, all her bridesmaid will receive wine glasses, that are customized with their names, and an artist drawing of them in their green bridesmaids dresses on the glass. Inside the glass, each will find a blue necklace.

Victor (Allen) receives a handmade sweater. And in case Clark forgets, Victor also gets best man cufflinks, with an artist drawing of her on it.

And while Victor (Van Dort) might not be in the wedding party, he still gets a Christmas gift. A pair of clockwork cufflinks

It makes me happy to report that I have completed three art pieces in the last week, all of which meant to be Christmas gifts.

The first is one of Connor and Kairos, and hopefully it will become a good gift suggestion that I have Connor. I have not yet spoken to him since the LOL-incident that had changed my personality. But I intend to ensure that he and are still okay with our friendship.

The second is of Arthur and his Guinevere, and was another gift suggestion. The Prince of Camelot has made me one of his honorary Knights. Which is wonderful, considering I know how some of my gifts are considered in his world (as being bad). Arthur has always accepted me. I would like to take that leap forward by revealing the fact I am a vampire to him. And hope he will continue to accept me for who I am, and continue being a good friend.

The third is a landscape portrait of the Kent farm that I gave give Martha and Jonathan for Christmas. Which will be a little weird for them... considering it is currently June in Smallville. My gifts for Clark also serve a duel purpose of being graduation and Christmas presents. Should we call it gradmas or Christuation? The slight time difference between Smallville and the Nexus is one that I will have to adjust to once I relocate there.

Which reminds me I still need to find an apartment near Kansas State. And get moved over before the new year (for the Nexus). I have a feeling the summer is going to be a busy one for Clark and his family, and I would really like to be more available to them when they need me. And be there by Smallville's September when university classes start up again.

And speaking of the Kents... I need to make arrangements for my Father to visit. He would like to meet Clark and the family. There are a few things I would like to remind them before that visit, just in case. But this is good progress. And I feel really happy about how close we have gotten.

Other than that I think I am done everything I need to for the holidays.

April entered her Nexus apartment with an armful of books and study materials. After completing some research, she had pleased to learn that there were ways to get into university without having a high school diploma. All she had to do was claim that she had been 'home-schooled' and then they would allow her to take the appropriate ACT or GED courses before enrolling.

The other interesting thing was that this process was about the same if she decided to go to the Rome University of Fine Arts, or go ahead and apply at Kansas State University. Sure she still had not made a choice between the two schools, but at least she had something to work on while debating the pros and cons of both university facilities.

Setting down the books, April immediately got to work. Some things were quite easy for her to learn, like English, Math and Science. While other things were more demanding of her time and energy, like History. It would be a lot for her to study, but there was no real rush. It was just her following her heart.

And when the studying got too much for her... April would put it all aside and work on some Christmas gifts. The portrait that she was painting for Connor to give to Kairos. Her own gift ideas for Kairos and Connor. And of course something special for her own Father, and Martha and Jonathan Kent. It seemed she had a gift chosen for everyone on her list except for Clark. And of course he seemed the hardest to shop for (especially since she had to hide his Christmas gift under the illusion of being a Graduation gift).

After having a good conversation with Kairos after her last adventure in the Nexus, April decided to invite the Slyph over to spend some time. It was a good way to get to know her new friend better.
