It has been weeks since April's voices were returned to normal, thanks to the efforts of Clark, Ed and Cipher Nine. And while the voices returned to their everyday work, of providing assistance and advice to the Key, it seemed that she wasn't willing to pay attention.

April was scared, truth be told. She was scared in trusting her voices again.

It was J'onn who informed Clark that his wife was refusing to provide advice to the other JLA members. And while no one had suffered yet, it was like the team was missing a big part of their strengths.

Harry can see the change in her expression as she lets her voices back in. "Better?"

"It is like... reuniting with a life-long friend."

"Hey, if you were born with 'em, that's not surprising to hear."

[slayers_desire]

"They truly have a history longer than myself, or my mother."

[thepizzalord]

"Maybe you'll get a chance to learn more about 'em, now that you're back together."

[slayers_desire]

"I would really like to research their origins."

[thepizzalord]

"Hey, if there's ever anything I can do to help, call me up," Harry offers with a smile.

"I am going to have a difficult time researching something like this... do you have any suggestions?"

[thepizzalord]

"Is your mother the only person you know about who had these same, ah, voices?" He wants a little more info before he can make a good suggestion.

[slayers_desire]

"Yes. She never researched into how she got them. She believed they were an afront to the Lord. And unfortunately, Angelus tormented her using that knowledge, driving her insane before embracing her as a vampire."

"That makes things a bit harder... I bet you've already looked in that big ol' Watcher library you've got access to."

"Not extensively..." April admits. They have so many books, and no direction on where to held. And she wonders if she tuned her voices to this particular question, if they could even provide information on their own origins.

"That'd probably be a good first step," Harry suggests. "Never underestimate the power of straight-up knowledge."

[slayers_desire]

"I guess I have always been overwhelmed by the amount of knowledge kept in the Watcher Library..."

[thepizzalord]

"Yeah, I can understand that. You've got that nifty trick for finding the books you want though," he says, remembering when she helped him research protection spells.

[slayers_desire]

"I have never called on my voices, to ask about my voices. Do you think it would work?"

[thepizzalord]

Harry shrugs, not really sure. "Way I see it, there's one way to find out."

[slayers_desire]

"I guess that is true..." And she will just have to take a leap of faith.

[thepizzalord]

"If it doesn't work, what's the worst that can happen?" He's not asking to tempt fate, he genuinely isn't sure. She just might not know, or maybe there's some kind of retaliation for trying to figure it out.

"You had to say that... didn't you."

[thepizzalord]

Harry chuckles. "At least it can't rain in a library. Usually."

"Unless you are dealing with magical spells, of course."

[thepizzalord]

"Especially entropy curses," Harry agrees. "Doesn't get much more surprising than seeing someone get squashed by an orbital strike from a frozen turkey."

"I am so glad you were able to help me again Harry."

[thepizzalord]

"Me too. You're a good gal, April."
