trying to make the pieces fit ((Buffyverse plot))
There was a small gathering of people in the room, doing things that might seem normal. Drinking coffee. Reading a book. Checking sites on the computer. Talking with their neighbor.
But this wasn't a normal day. And despite appearances, these people were all preparing to help save their world.
Most of the 'Scoobies' were here... Xander, Connor, Wes, Lorne, Spike and even Willow had come down for the event. There were others there too... Victor Allen, Clark Kent and Edward Elric.
They were all here to figure out how to create a new Seed. They already had a few clues to go on... but there were still a lot to discuss.
The most recent revelation came after Illyria had deceived the group, and put Clark and April right into the heart of the White Room. Where their memories were taken from them. They had fought free... and now April was more determined than ever to find a way to save her world.
((posting order: April, Clark, Victor, Ed))

Miss Edith stands up. She gives that creepy smile again, before almost disappearing... except for her smile. "Follow the story."

Follow the story... which story, he wonders?

"So, we're kinda mid-story right now. After the tea party, Alice goes to the Red Queen's croquet game and causes a ruckus. I say we just start walking."
So she looks for the first opening she can find in the trees and she starts to lead the way. She feels like, this place being what it is, the area they need to go to will sort its way out.

"So we will just have to face the Red Queen?" April wonders. She met a very dangerous Red Queen in Alice's Wonderland world.

"I doubt it'll be as easy as it sounds."

And the hat! That joyous hat. She really hopes that she'll be allowed to keep it. She moves forward, ever with that limp, ducking under branches, brushing aside leaves.
For the first time since they've entered the white room, she looks like she's entirely in her element. A surreal landscape where much depends on words, on wit, and on innovation. This is her battlefield. This is where she wins.
"That's the crux of the story, where Alice is forced into the very authority she avoided at home, where she has to face an over-exaggerated female figure, where she has to deal with rules that she finds ridiculous. It's the closest Alice gets, in Wonderland, of being back home."
"Oh, probably not so easy, but this is the kinda thing I can do. Heaven forbid I get assigned a marathon."

Ed would be Alice, though, she thinks, the character who plays it straight, the real person in a land of madmen. The main character.
April's awesome brain powers would make her the Caterpillar.
And Clark, of course, would be the White Rabbit, ever so responsible.
She thinks that saying it aloud would make it true and by keeping silent she won't Alice-ify poor Ed. Alas, she is wrong.
Excuse me while I try to get Ed and my laughter back under control.
He's going to just sputter for a bit and then start ranting to himself under his breath in German. If he has to rebraid his hair, he's going to be even more annoyed than he is already.
hil-ar-ious!
It would have been hard to get around as a true caterpillar after all.
She holds out the Hookah in one hand, looking at it. "Woah... okay."
I'd even considered having Clark do dibs on the Rabbit, lol
Vic is all like, "SORRY BUT I'M NOT SORRY AT ALL."
"I do have reasons, I promise this isn't on a whim. Each character just fits you!"
And then she collapses into giggles again. "Oh please don't hate me you guys."
Ed's kind of rampaging around inside my head at the moment... not IC-ly, though.
that is a funny image
"If you think they fit... I am sure it will help us get through the story."
They were started to head into a hedgemaze. Just for a second, down a different path, one might see the Ghostbusters running in search of Ghosts.

And then thinks 'pants pants pants' really hard, so he'll be comfortable, thinking him up a pair of nice, crisp blue trousers, still in line with the costume.
The Ghostbusters... she loves this world. With a thought, everything changes. So she won't think of purple elephants, no. They're lime green. And flying. And snorting fire out of their trunks.
"Sorry again!"
She leads a fast, twisted way through the maze, which is getting more cluttered all the time, as she thinks of viscious mermaids in ponds that look more fish than human, but with claws, blue fairies with fur and needle-sharp teeth (she quickly thinks of a cage to contain them). Fantastic new creatures that swim in the air, that look more mist than corporeal, and trees glittering with fruit as bright as stars.
"Sorry!"
She closes her eyes, takes a deep breath, and clears the clutter out of her brain.

Trousers. Thank God. And as an atheist, Ed doesn't use that phrase very much. Blue still isn't his colour, though; he looks much better in black and red.

And every now and then, they will spot signs that read "This Way" or "That Way" or both, hanging on the walls.
