taking time to heal

For the next few days, April couldn't help but think of her friend Victor. Who had been captured by the alternate-Lionel Luthor, tortured and injured. It would take a lot of time for Victor to heal her wounds. There were also non-physical wounds too.

Cole didn't trust Clark. And Lionel was still out there. Plotting something.

Today, April was staring out to the city, her mind wandering today. Her PINpoint beeped in her hands. And she looked at it, reading the message waiting for her.

Clark should come home soon. And at least this message was a good one.

April nodded. They find Spike and Shasta dancing to one more song. Spike, seeing his daughter, laughs and switches his partner so he is dancing with her. And Shasta is now at Clark's side.

Clark takes it in stride as best he can, though he doesn't know Shasta very well. "Hello again."

"Hello. I am a little bigger than your mate... but shall we?" Shasta held out her hand to him.

"I'd be happy to." He won't dance with her as closely as he would with April, of course. Both because of her more advanced pregnancy and because she isn't his wife. Though he takes care not to seem rude or restrained about it.

"April and I enjoyed ourselves tonight. We don't get the chance for these kinds of celebrations at home very often."

"Your world, is it at such quarrel as Spike's is?" Shasta asked softly.

"Not quite as bad just yet, but yes. We often have a lot on our minds and not a lot of time where we can just spend time together."

"I can remember the struggles of my mate and I, when great trouble threatened our community. It is those moments that you spend together that you remember the most."

[kalel_ofkrypton]

"Times like tonight," he agrees. "Memories are one of the most powerful things you can hold onto."

[vampire_village]

"And by passing on our memories, we create a heritage for the next generation." Shasta smiles softly. The song finally ends. April and Spike say their goodbyes, with Shasta taking Clark's hand.

"Go dté tú slán." Shasta says to him. Then goes back to Spike's side.

I wonder what that means... He smiles and nods to her and Spike. "Goodbye, and good luck."

April kisses Clark's cheek when she returns to his side. "Well now, lets go back home."

((I tried to pick pups for the future!vampire kids about the same age as Jonathan. LOL more than likely. They are going to have many aunts and uncles after all))

((It's funny how many aunts and uncles they'll have when Clark and April don't have any siblings, lol. But the way Clark sees it, you get to choose your family, so it works. :P))

((Should be! I still have to rewatch it, and I've been struggling with a migraine today so I'm going to bed early, so we'll have to put it off until at least tomorrow. But my current assignment at work has been stalled for a while due to problems further up the line so there's always a good chance I'll get sent home early again tomorrow and hopefully we can get started))
