when the scheduled time arrives

The passing of time had seemed to go by quicker than April had thought. Even with the fact her training under the Vampire Masters had taken longer than the half-a-century they had promised her. In fact, for her being gone, it had been near 800 years.

But when she returned to the dimension that April once called home... she knew that for everyone else not even a second had passed by. It would be interesting to adjust to.

Glancing at her PINpoint, glad to note that it still worked, April walked over to the bench that she had told Rain to meet her at. For him, it would have been only a second since he last saw her, as a five-year-old girl. But now, here she was all grown up.

And hoping that he would still consider her a friend.

Rain used his watch configured PINpoint to head to the co-ordinates provided in April's note. He wasn't quite sure what to expect. He didn't realize she was going right that second but when he arrived, there she was, all grown up.. or maybe she hadn't gone yet and was just projecting her illusion. Better to go with that until he knew for sure.

"Hi April. Glad I was able to find it alright."

April looked up, to study the Slayer she remembered. "And you look the same..."

"I should hope so, it's only been a few min... oh.. waitaminute...."

"Yah... sort of more time for me."

"So you really did it. Wow. Well you look great. How long were you gone?"

"Do you really want to know?"

"Now I'm not sure how things have changed where YOU were but usually when someone asks a question, they're looking for an answer." He teases and then offers a hug. "Not sure how long it's been since you had one, welcome home."

She returns the hug, wrapping her arms around him. "Eight centuries or so. My teachers were not huggers..."

"Holy shit..." he says, hugging her tighter. "I guess you're overdue."

"No kidding. So don't mind me if I don't let go for a bit."

"Yeah.. cuz I'm gonna complain about a good looking girl hugging on me." He smiles. "Are you cracked?" he teases.

"I did not think you would consider me a good looking girl."

"Yep... she's cracked." he said, half to himself, then touched her forehead for a fever. "You're sick right?"

"Sort of can't get sick." She chuckled. "Seriously... I just thought you would always see me as a child."

"Must be nice. Being sick SUCKS." he shook his head. "I did when you really were one, but you were already very mature. When I saw you in your illusion form it was REALLY hard to remind myself you were only a little kid. Messed with my head a little."

"I thought Slayers didn't get sick."

"How did it mess with your head?"

"Wait.. we don't?" He blinks, surprised. "No way! What ELSE do you know about me that I don't know. Now that you mention it, I haven't been sick in about a year and a half....."

Still hugging, he replies. "Because one minute you were this adorable little girl, younger than my sister and the next minute.. hottie... then little girl...hottie.. you get the idea."

"I did offer to be your Watcher, so I could tell you what I knew about Slayers, Vampires and Demons." She reminded him.

"So you saw me as a sister... and as a hottie. So either, you did not want your sister to be a hottie. Or you did not want the hottie to be like your sister."

"Well.. that's true. But now you're even better equipped to do that."

"No.. I didn't see you as a sister. I saw you as a little girl younger than my sister. I just knew I couldn't flirt with a five year old." He shudders. "That's creepy."

"Oh yes. I gained a lot more knowledge in my training."

"And so was it required you flirted with every hottie or something?"

He shakes his head. "Uhh.. nooo. But if I find someone attractive, of course I'm gonna flirt. Only problem was, mature as you were... you were five." He wonders if he's making any sense.

He was. "I would not worry about it. No harm done right?"

"Not so far as I can tell." He's kind of enjoying this hugging thing and doesn't need her to let go until she feels like she's hugged out.

"Did you see your mom yet or am I the first?"

"You are the first. I needed a friend."

"Well you've got one." He smiled. "If you need moral support when you see your mom.. I could come with if you like."
