when the scheduled time arrives
The passing of time had seemed to go by quicker than April had thought. Even with the fact her training under the Vampire Masters had taken longer than the half-a-century they had promised her. In fact, for her being gone, it had been near 800 years.
But when she returned to the dimension that April once called home... she knew that for everyone else not even a second had passed by. It would be interesting to adjust to.
Glancing at her PINpoint, glad to note that it still worked, April walked over to the bench that she had told Rain to meet her at. For him, it would have been only a second since he last saw her, as a five-year-old girl. But now, here she was all grown up.
And hoping that he would still consider her a friend.

"Steak?" What? She still has the hunger some time.

"Steak is RIGHT up my alley." he offers an arm. "Great place in River's End. It's a small town but has some good restaurants."

"Don't you know who this is?" He motions to April, looking appalled.
"I'm afraid not sir, you need a reservation." the man replied with a snooty air.
"Seriously? You don't know royalty when you see it? This is Princess Danica of Norway." he said, his volume increasing. People started to take notice.
"Please.. she's no more princess than I am." the man rolled his eyes.
"I will not STAND for you insulting her highness this way. I demand to see your superior." Rain yells.
People start muttering about terrible service and disrespecting royalty and what's the world coming to. The Maitre D stiffens and rushes off to find his manager. Rain bumps the podium, knocking the book on the floor. "Oops." he bends down to write in a reservation for the "princess" on another page of the book while people are distracted and asking April for an autograph or the occasional photo. Rain hopes she'll play along while he puts the book back in its place.

Then when she spots the Maitre'D returning, with his manager, she gave him her best icy royal stare. "What is this all about? I have never been insulted in this country before?"
no subject
"The Princess and her escort.." he points to himself. "Have reservations in this fine establishment and your man here has decided to besmirch her royal highness' name and claim she is not who she says she is. I have NEVER been so insulted in my life. My own insult is bad enough but to insult someone as charming, beautiful and intelligent as her highness? That will NOT stand sir. I DEMAND you check your book again and god help you if our reservations have been cancelled."
The Maitre'D tried to argue but the manager grabbed the book and saw the reservation. "A THOUSAND pardons." he exclaimed, taking April's hand and kissing the back of it. "Please forgive the mistake. Your meal will be on the house of course your grace. The least we can do for the pleasure of having you dine with us." He slaps the book into the Maitre'D's chest with an icy stare. "Seat them at once, and a bottle of our finest. We'll discuss this later." he muttered.
"That's better." Rain piped up, glaring as the Maitre'D led them to their seats. In seconds, a bottle arrived and was uncorked. Menus were left and the servers bowed and scraped their way out of the area to give them time to look the menus over. Rain opened his menu and winked at April over the top of it.

"Do you pull this often?"

"I have heard of the first... movies... but the second?"
no subject
"In the movie Ferris Bueller, Ferris pretends to be Abe Froman, the sausage king of Chicago in order to get into a restaurant. He has Cameron call looking for him, it's a great scene." He puts down his glass as the waiter returns. "What can I get your highness?" the waiter asks.
no subject
"Ohhhh I remember the scene now. I had forgotten the name he had used." April chuckled.
When the waitress returned, April handed Rain her menu. "Let me see how well their cooks do blue rare steak? Perhaps the meat will be better prepared than the Matre D'."
no subject
"All that commotion at the door has made me hungry." He says, taking another sip of his champagne before ordering. "I'll have the shrimp as a starter and I'd like a steak as well. The best cut of meat you have for her highness and the second best for myself of course. I would like mine prepared medium well with all the trimmings and fried mushrooms and onions." He hands over the menu.

"So what did you miss most while you were away?" He asks quietly, so other diners can't eavesdrop even though they are quite far from the nearest table.
no subject
"Laughter. Hope. Passion." Those are next three. "And of course, my family and friends. It was hard, being away."
(bed for mun)
no subject
"No laughter, hope or passion?" he makes a face. "God that sounds horrible. Hope it was worth it."
((Goodnight!))

"I am not sure you knew this... but many older Vampires and Demons really consider the vampires you fight nightly as... only vermin. They are too young for the truly older and powerful."
"I suppose it was fortunate my father was an older vampire himself. And that there was the prophecy..."
no subject
"They ARE vermin, but as far as I'm concerned all of them that don't have souls are."
"Well I didn't really want to talk shop on your homecoming celebration but... prophecy?"
