April was excited. She just received a text from Sophie, the pregnant vampire that lived in a vampire-centric dimension. The twins were arriving, and an invitation was extended to April and Clark to attend the ceremony. To witness this moment for their own eyes...

An important thing to witness, especially as April was pregnant herself and anxious to learn about vampire births.

Hopefully Clark was available. April picks up the phone to call him at work.

Clark doesn't need to move away to retrieve his blue kryptonite, opening a portal where he can simply reach in and grab it. April won't even need to let go of him.

April first checks that Sophie doesn't need her, and the other vampiress seems to be in good hands with her birthing coach and husband. By taking a few steps to the corner, it gives them more privacy.

Then she bites him to take the blood she requires.

Clark's not sure how much of her hunger is transferred from the babies and how much is just from expending so much energy, but as always he lets her take as much as she needs. With Sophie and her twins out of danger, his concern is now only for his own wife and unborn child.

April feeds just a second or two longer than normal. Today was a tiring day for her. The emotions. Her using her abilities. And when she is done feeding, she rests her head on his chest.

"Better."

He puts his arms around her, giving her physical and emotional support as she needs it. "You look pretty drained."

"I feel tired. But I know that Sophie was the one who did all the work." April glances over as Mykal brings the two babies to his wife.

"You helped a lot. This wouldn't have gone as easily without your help." And it was pretty rough as it was. And he wonders what it will be like when it is their turn.

She purrs softly to the complement. A wave of emotions wash over her. Joy. Euphoria. Happiness. Love. And she knows that she can share these ones with her husband.

"I learned a lot from this."

[kalel_ofkrypton]

"Me too." Although he can hope that her hunger won't be so strong, that they'll be in friendly company if it does hit like that, keeping al of them safe.

He gives her a kiss, and holds her close, watching the new and proud parents with their twins.

April shared a lot with Sophie today and so now she knows what to prepare for. And that will make her experience a little easier. For both her and the baby.

"What a happy family."

"They look that way." Stepping back now, letting Sophie and Mykal meet their new children, and bond as a family. "No offense but I'm glad we're not having twins just yet."

[slayers_desire]

"Just yet? Don't get any ideas hotshot."

[kalel_ofkrypton]

"Hey, I just don't want to jinx us."

[slayers_desire]

"I don't think things can change right now. And I am glad we just have one to worry about for the next little while."

She closes her eyes, resting her head on his chest. "We will be a good family too."

"You never know." He kisses her forehead, and rubs her back lightly. "I know we will. You knew just what to do today."

[slayers_desire]

"I feel better about so many things. I am glad Sophie invited us here."

[kalel_ofkrypton]

"Me too. Even though it was a bit... you know." He is a guy, and one who has only attended the birth of calves before, never babies. And many of his thoughts were on what it will be like when it is April giving birth to their child.

[slayers_desire]

"Anything that worries you the most?" April is trying to distract him from what happened. And get him to detail any worries so they can work on those.

[kalel_ofkrypton]

"It's going to be really stressful for you. Whether or not the hunger is as strong for you, or the pain... it's going to be hard for me to watch you go through that."

[slayers_desire]

April gently squeezes his hand. And smiles softly. "I know you would do anything to help me."

((bed time))

[kalel_ofkrypton]

"And I'll be there, doing anything I can, even if that's just holding your hand."

[slayers_desire]

"I am sure you will be doing more than just holding my hand."

April glances around one more time. "I think we can go home. Give the new family some alone time."

[kalel_ofkrypton]

"I agree." And Clark's sure that the new parents might not even notice as they slip out of the birthing room, heading out. "Do you want to say goodbye to your dad before we go?"
