recovering from an ordeal

Clark and April had stayed in her home universe. It had been a day since the whole ordeal with the kidnapping and everything. April was still not talking about anything.

In fact, for the last couple of hours, she had stayed in the guest bed that the others had given the couple.

"You would've liked what I had to do to find you yesterday... Lorne made me sing."

"I missed you singing?" April is awed at what he had to do to find her.

"I did it in Kryptonian. Just so no one would have to hear how bad I was."

April wishes she could have been there. (Of course, that would not have made sense because then he wouldn't had to sing in the first place... but still)

"You know... you could sing to your child."

[kalel_ofkrypton]

"You want me teaching them the Kryptonian equivalent of a football chant this early, huh?"

[slayers_desire]

"Some books says talking to your baby before it is born, helps it learn faster. Why not teach him or her Kryptonian?"

[kalel_ofkrypton]

He looks uncharacteristically shy, just a little. "You won't feel silly having me talking to your belly?"

[slayers_desire]

"No." April has enjoyed the moments when he gently touches her belly. When he kisses it. She finds it sweet. Touching. And sees what a good father he will be everytime he does it.

"Okay, but don't be surprised if the baby comes out with a terrible singing voice."

[slayers_desire]

Their conversation has been distracting April enough that she doesn't even notice when they return home. "You really that bad?"

"Maybe sometime I'll let you be the judge of that. It's not like I can sing to the baby without you overhearing right now."

[slayers_desire]

"You do owe me a song." April laughed softly.

[kalel_ofkrypton]

"So I do." He's glad to see a lack of any bad reaction as they arrive back home, and whether or not it's because of the conversation, he's glad either way.

She will hesitate a little at the stairs, most of her memories of dealing with Clark Luthor were in the bedroom after all.

Instead she heads into the kitchen. "I should make a list."

"What kind of list?" he asks, leaning down to pet Shelby as he comes to greet his favorite humanoids.

April is also glad to see Shelby. She had been worried about the family pet, when Luthor was here.

"Of things you owe me."

[kalel_ofkrypton]

"That's going to be a long list then."

[slayers_desire]

April sets out a few things for a light supper. Mostly a fruit plate, and some cold cuts and buns. "Just think of the fun you will have crossing things off the list."

"Hey, I can't go through the list too quickly. Or I won't owe you things anymore." He doesn't mind a very uncomplicated supper, and helps set out a handful of other things that require no cooking to complement the meal.

[slayers_desire]

"And what fun would that be?" April sits down, glad to have a no-nonsense meal tonight. Something light and easy.

It will be about half-way in the meal, when she finally speaks again. "Is it silly, for me to be a little afraid of our bedroom?"

"I wouldn't say so... he kind of invaded our private space. Our bedroom is supposed to be a safe haven."

((and speaking of bed...))

"A big part of me... wants to reclaim my territory." She admits.

"Is that a bad thing?"

[slayers_desire]

April gently squeezes his hand. "Maybe not..."

[kalel_ofkrypton]

"I want you to be happy, and comfortable in our house. And if you need to reclaim that space, I'm all for it."
