following a spool of thread (part one of four)
((brief OOC note, the four parts of this plottage will be spread out in different threads, and might take a couple of weeks to fully complete))
It all started with a spool of thread that April found in her room in the Rome villa. When she picked it up, she got flashes of visions about one of the Witches. The youngest... and April got the feeling that she could easily approach the youngest witch and talk to her. Without having to worry about an attack.
But it was still nice to arrive in Rome with Clark at her side.
Moving forward, April went into a zoned-out mood, where she followed her voices. Holding out the line of thread, she started to walk. Clark would have to ensure that she didn't bump into any people because she wasn't really paying attention to her surroundings.

The young woman nodded at the statement. Knowing it was true. "But if we both are dealing with the same emotions, how are we so divided on different sides? I don't like fighting, nor want to fight you."
Chloe paused. "There was a time when we were free. When the Gods and Demons controlled the world. But then humans came and destroyed us. You were upset over having the Sins in a form... but that controlled them. If you are designated with one gift, than it becomes yours. I am the past. That is what I am. That is what I always am."

"But that is so... one dimensional." April can't image being defined by one term. To live her life like that.
"Most humans don't believe the same. That is why they destroyed us. And when we fought back... the Powers That Be decided the humans needed Champions. But where are our Champions? Who protects us?"
"No one believes in me anymore." Chloe looked away sad.

"And now you feel unneeded?" April couldn't believe it was that simple.
"We are. Along with the other old ones, we are forgotten. Aurora wishes our glory days to return, and that is our goal."

"The humans have no need for us anymore. Aurora says the only way to return to the ways of the past is to commit ourselves to our goal."
"Aurora is wrong, Chloe." April states simply. She looks at the young girl herself. "The Sins, when they attacked me, they said it was because I was a threat to them. And to your sisters."
"You were gifted with great powers when you were born. Aurora considers you a threat." Chloe replied.

The sisters' view of April is another matter entirely, of course. "Why?"
no subject
"I can't answer that. I do not see what she does."
"But you are still willing to stand at her side and hurt me." April whispered. "Clotho... I don't want to fight you. I respect my past. Clark respects his. We could find you another path to follow."
((bed time))
Clotho? lol
Its her Fate name. Remember?
"I fear that betrayal happens when it is least expected, and that your sister is leading you down an unsuitable path." April gently commented.
"And where is your proof that we are on the wrong path? You two both claim to be on the side of 'right'. How am I just supposed to accept that?"
In my defense I was tired, and it IS a silly-sounding name :P
s'right
April wasn't sure how to answer that. Giving power back to the Gods and Demons didn't seem to be the right answer. But allowing them to be destroyed didn't seem to be right either.
"I am not sure. Really."

"I can't just go up to people and tell them I am a Fate. They wouldn't believe me. And those who did would endanger me. It would be like you telling your world you are Superman. You just can't."
"But we could help Chloe. If you let us..." April replied. Trying to find the right words to make the situation better.
"You can't force humans to believe in something they don't want to. You can't give me a purpose. A reason for living. Aurora can."
no subject
"And for the Fate of the past, you're sure putting a lot of faith in the Future."
no subject
"This all still comes back to a future your sister is seeing." April pointed out. "Why not give us a chance?"

"Darkness..." April whimpered. "So much darkness."

"The Fates... not all is well. One has power, while the other two are her slaves. Betrayal..."
"Make it stop..." April whimpers. Chloe let go, allowing the vision to stop and for April to slump slightly at the table.

He looks across the table at Chloe. "Is that what you want?"
no subject
"I don't know how much I can help you. My gifts are not as powerful as my sisters. I am only one of three."
"One person matters..." April whispers. "It has to."
no subject
"And you don't have to be alone. Stop working against humanity and work with them. With us."
