Day meme: a difficult one for me

Day 03 – Your parents, in great detail
Sigh...

Okay...

My mother is Drusilla, or Dru to some. She had been born to Catholic parents in London, England and during her human years was fearful of her psychic abilities, especially considering the fact that most of the future that came to her included tragic situations. Then in 1860, just when Dru was about to enter the nunnery, a vampire named Angelus became obsessed with her.
He tortured her entire family, then on the day Dru was about to take her holy vows forced her to watch the slaughter of the whole convent. Needless to say, her mind broke and it was after that she was turned into a vampire by Angelus.

My father is Spike, who in his human years was a young poet named William. In 1880, Drusilla discovered him and decided to turn him into a vampire. He acquired the nickname Spike for his method of killing (torturing people with railroad spikes), and is especially noted among vampire ranks for killing two vampire Slayers. On our first meeting, Spike has also told me that he had killed his mother.
It was something that we shared

Spike and Drusilla first encountered the Slayer known as Buffy when they arrived in Sunnydale. It was there that destiny unfolded with greater purpose for my father. For centuries he denied the human emotions that remained with him, but an implanted cerebral microchip that denied him the opportunity to inflict pain on humans created a slight bond between Spike and the Scoobies.
And slowly, he fell in love with Buffy.

Buffy died and was brought back by magic, and while detaching from the Scoobies Buffy had selected to become closer to Spike. But it was a violent relationship and didn't make either of them happy. My father attempted to take advantage of Buffy, but was so horrified by the actions that he sought out the Demon trials, where he earned back his soul.

With a soul, Spike returned to the fight in Sunnydale and sacrificed himself to cast sunlight on the First Evil's army. It was this death that caught the attention of the Powers That Be, and developed into my birth. Spike did return from death, resurrected in Los Angeles, where he was iincorporeal for a time. And attempted to learn if he was the Champion spoken of in the Shanshu Prophecy, competing against Angel (who had been Angelus before he had been cursed by a soul by gypsies).

During Spike's time in Los Angeles, my mother Drusilla had found at a psychiatric hospital. That was where I found her, when I returned to my home dimension, after escaping Qua-Toth. She was so weak and so lonely. And I staked her. I am still not sure if it was me... or my Demon... or her hypnosis...
or a combination of all three.

I found Spike in Los Angeles. And from there we tried to reconcile the fact that Dru had never told him about me. I have followed him to Rome. And he has been there for me, especially when it comes to understanding the gifts I inherited from my mother... but still our relationship is strained.
He did come to my side after my mother attacked me, when she was brought back to life for one day by some mysterious force. After that incident, he went off into the night to save Buffy from a difficult situation, and so we have not had a chance to talk further. But he is the only one I have left of my family.
So... it is enough.
