Slayer 101: Introduction to the Training Centre

After heading from her Dark City home, April took Rain to a quiet place where they could teleport to the Nexus warehouse that she had previously purchased. It had not taken much, for her, after all... because of the fact that April had been gone for 800 years. She had put a little away into this place, when she could. And now it was a complete training center. One that might surprise Rain with how complete it was.

The larger training area included all the required weapons that Rain would require. It was also established an multi-Nexus technology, that would adapt the grounds of the training area as required. If he wanted rooftops - he would get rooftops. If he wanted a cemetery - he would get a cemetery. If he wanted a Mountain top... well you get the idea.

Next to the training center was the library. Here Harley had teleported all of Angel's and Spike's lore books. The ones that they had taken from Wolfram and Hart. Books on every type of Demon, Vampire, or Creature of the Night that Rain would have to learn about. And regular books, that seemed all too ordinary, like that one on History or Latin, but were just as important for Rain to learn as the others were.

There was also a storage area, that contained a couple of mystical required items. Or things like garlic. It was connected to the kitchen area, and of course a nice large walk-in freezer unit for all the food that Rain might ever need. (And a couple of blood supplies for April).

North of the kitchen was the bedrooms. Two. One for both of them. (Just in case they worked to sharing a bed). Both bedrooms had their own private walk-in closet and bathroom. Both had dressers, four-post beds and alarm clocks. Both were also sound proof. There was of course an adjoining door between the two bedrooms.

From Rain's room, which had been painted in dark blues, was a door that lead to a music booth. Where he could place his guitars, play songs, and just be the musician that he was so often denied. Sitting in the middle of a room was a very special guitar. For it was both a guitar and a weapon. A press of one button, and stakes would pop out of the neck. Another button would create a laser-light surround the 'axe' blade, creating a very real and dangerous weapon capable of cutting off a creatures head. There was a third button, that would light the whole thing on fire, without causing damage to the musical instrument.

Of course, April would let Rain explore, while setting up a training session for Rain to start with. Expecting a lot of reaction... hopefully.

"Sorry I disappointed you ma'am." he said before laying on the floor. The floor was cool, his body was hot. It only made sense. It's not like he had really done anything like that before and he certainly had never had guidance.

"Next time. Ask about hazards to yourself. You might have had an opportunity to have a balm applied to your body to protect you from the flames."

Leaning down to touch his back, April continued. "And instead of throwing your weapon away, you could have used the extinguisher on the Fire Demon. Keeping your weapon. You were told it would be your best advantage to you."

"I wouldn't have had a balm in the field, wouldn't have been a realistic scenario right?"

He groaned. "I knooow. But I didn't think it would work and I was just in a hurry to get the kids out of there."

"Because... if we had heard about the fire on the police scanner that is in this training centre, you would have had the time to grab the appropriate balm."

"You were just in a hurry the whole time."

"And I still barely made it. In the real world, would I have had to race the clock?" He bit his tongue. "No.. you're the Watcher, I'm the student. You know best. I'm sorry." He rolled over on his back, took a nice deep gulp of air and sat up.

"Well lets see... the house was on fire. Those people would have died from the heat, or the smoke inhalation." April stated simply. So yes, there would have been a clock.

She bit her lips when he apologized a moment later. "I had been worried about you the whole time."
