darkness comes when she sleeps ((Smallville))
Returning to her apartment after hanging out with Kairos, April found another white rose at her doorstep. The gifts continued to be a pleasant discovery. Especially since the young woman was still under the perception that they were gifts from her boyfriend.
The vase in the kitchen was getting too small now that she had three roses. So she found a slightly bigger vase and moved the flowers into her bedroom. And took a moment to appreciate their smell, before turning in for the night.
Three hours later, April woke with a start. Her eyes glowed red, as she searched around the apartment for something that wasn't there. A frustrated growl crossed her lips. The vampire had been awakened. And it had several desires to fulfill.
Getting out of bed, she dressed and grabbed her PINpoint. There was one place where April would find what she desired right now. Smallville. And with a press of a button, she had teleported to the small Kansas town. No one had seen the portal appear, as she had been smart enough to ensure that it had been in an out of way location.
Entering Smallville, April noted that time was slightly different. It had been quite late at night at her apartment, but here the sun was just setting. The revelation gave the vampire a smile, after all it meant more night to play with. She heard music from a close by coffee shop, and turning moved down the street and entered The Talon.

"They're doing fine," he says, though he doesn't look up at her. Wouldn't do to set her on fire now, after all that work they've done to stop it from happening, and isn't he glad he doesn't need to think sexy thoughts about toast? "They settled down pretty quick after last night, but some were kind of spooked for about an hour."
As he speaks, he accumulates a stack of perfect toast that encompasses about half the loaf. Lois has never been able to figure out how they do that without leaving geometrical toaster prints on it from the wires, and it amuses him to keep her guessing.

She doesn't want her presence being a bad thing after all.

The back door swings open as Jonathan enters the house, going to wash his hands before joining them at the table. And upstairs, there's a loud thud.
"There's Lois," Clark says, and hastily finishes the toast.
An unkempt brunette practically oozes her way down the stairs, making a straight line towards the coffeepot. When Clark offers a way-too-cheery good morning, she just mutters incoherently and buries her face in a mug.

The thud makes April wonder if that is typical for Lois to awaken. She watches the brunette in curiousity, knowing from alternate Clarks that she plays a major role in their lives.
"Good morning Lois." April greets the other woman by name.

It's halfway into her third or fourth cup of coffee that she finally seems to wake up and realize that there's someone she doesn't know present. "Uh, hi?"
no subject
"I'm April." The young woman responds to the semi-question, serving a small portion of breakfast for herself.

That should make sense. She will ignoring the cheating comment.

It's clearly a familiar point of debate in the Kent household, because neither of his parents react very strongly to that at all.

"And while I have only been able to visit her three times, the Kents have been very welcoming. So I think you will see me around a little more."

"Great! I'll have to kidnap you and take you shopping. Chloe's my girl but I can use always more girl friends. Have you ever been to Metropolis? It's great, there's all kinds of shopping there. Can't go down certain streets though or you might get shot and that would suck. Hey, do you drive here or take a bus? I can't stand buses. They always smell funny and I end up with some creepy guy trying to grope me. I'd rather drive myself even though it's really boring when all you see is corn for hundreds of miles."
She talks fast enough that April may get the impression that she doesn't even care if her questions are answered. Which is a fair assessment. Lois tends to steamroll a conversation unless she's digging for information, and she loves to hear herself talk.

"It would be nice to have alternate shopping places outside of home." A day out with the girls sounds interesting. Something April has not had a chance to do quite often.
"I don't have my drivers license." Because she also doesn't have a birth certificate, or any other actual forms of identification.

He's pretty much inhaled his breakfast, while his parents are taking their time and Lois is mostly too busy talking to work her way through the mountain of food in front of her. "Speaking of driving," he says to April, "we should get going soon if we're going to the... thing." There isn't actually a thing, of course, but the sooner one escapes Lois, the better.
no subject
"True enough. Guess I am lucky enough to have a handsome chauffeur." Standing, she moves to clear her plate and his.
no subject
It's not until they're in the truck, driving away that he turns to her and says, "I figured it'd be a good idea to escape the black hole that is Lois's conversation before you got sucked in for eternity." He offers an apologetic smile.

Anything to delay having to escort her home. He wants to give her a good time before he has to say goodbye. So he's leaving it up to her.

When they come to the main road, Clark turns away from town to circle around first and show her the outlying areas. The LexCorp plant, huge and imposing as it rises from the barren near-winter landscape. The Luthor mansion, more of a castle than anything else, surrounded by a massive gate and isolated from much of the rest of town. Crater Lake, surrounded by the only forest for miles, and Reeves Dam holding back the river. The old foundry, no longer in use, which Clark does not drive close to, as the whole area was directly hit with many kryptonite-bearing meteors. The Loeb Bridge, where one section of the guardrail appears slightly newer than the rest, where Lex drove his Porsche off the bridge three and a half years ago.
The last location before driving into the town proper is Smallville High School. The parking lot is mostly empty, due to the lack of classes today, though there are some sports teams there for practice, and Clark points out Chloe's little red Volkswagen Bug as they slowly pass by. "She must be working at the Torch today."
no subject
She smiles when he notes Chloe is at the school. "I would love to meet her." His best (female) friend is someone who knows about Clark's secret, and it would be nice not to be hidding stuff around someone else besides his parents.
