For the general public, tonight the Caritas is closed.

For those who have a special invitation however -- there is a party to attend. And the bar is decked out with every single decoration in the world. There are helium balloons floating up by the roof, in all sorts of colors. And we mean all the colors. There are plaid balloons up there!

There are dozens of candles decorating each table. And these candles fire off little tiny explosions of fireworks every half hour.

There is a bubble machine and a fog machine by the dance floor, so people can mix it up and have fun. There is every kind of beverage (even the 'rich red' for vampires) at the bar.

And right now Lorne is on the stage, belting out a song to "Memory".

((here is the deal -- this is a mixed interaction thread. NPCs will interact with everyone who posts, but I encourage others to interact as well. There will be a point when a major plot point will occur, and hopefully I can bring everyone into a posting order))

"Got me there. Just don't let the Queen hear me say it."

"I'll keep it between us, when I have my bi-weekly tea with the Queen." Quipping. Quipping is good, at least.

Jack smiles, glad that she can lighten up at least a little, given the circumstances. "Speaking of tea, let's grab some seats and have a cup."

"Mmm, I could use that. Actually...." She lowers her voice, to say, "I could use getting absolutely wasted right now, but I know I shouldn't."

"I thought you didn't do that."

[victormakesart]

"I don't. I never have. But God could I use it."

[fractured_agent]

Jack nods. "That's why you need tea." He's been living in Britain for over a century, and it shows sometimes.

[victormakesart]

"Yeah," she says, with a little laugh, clutching onto her cane and making her way to the nearest seat. "Tea'll have to do."

"I'll get 'em. How do you take yours?"

[victormakesart]

"Thanks. Ah, I like it however, I'm not picky. Tea's great no matter how you take it."

[fractured_agent]

Jack nods. "Be right back then. Make yourself comfortable."

[victormakesart]

"Thank you." She stretches out her legs, flexing the joints (which pop and ache), though the braces are helping immensely.

Jack's only gone for a few minutes before he returns with two steaming mugs of tea, each with one lump of sugar and a splash of milk. He sits down and slides one of the mugs over to Victor.

[victormakesart]

She brushes her fingers lightly across the back of his hand, then wraps her hands around the mug, breathing in the steam. "Much appreciated."

"You're welcome." Jack barely blows on his before taking a sip. It's hot, but that's how tea should be.

She's a little more cautious, taking time for the drink to cool a little before she dives in.
