April felt uneasy, and just couldn't ease her mind. In the back of her mind, she knew it was post-traumatic stress from assisting Alex Mercer escape Manhatten. There were things she saw that she would never forget. Lives lost, their voices forever taken.

The one good thing from the whole situation is that Alex's sister Dana was saved, and currently staying in the Buffyverse universe.

But still, it was hard for April to sleep well. Sometimes the screaming in her mind never stopped.

April knows what it is like to start her life all over again. And wishes she could offer Dana something more.

"Things are a lot more calmer here, than dealing with Infected."

"Quieter too," Dana agrees. But she still misses her brother, odd though that seems. He used to be a real jerk, and she's not sure why she put up with him. She thinks that, apparently, getting Infected did him some good. She still doesn't know that Alex is the virus, not really her brother.

"I am afraid that your world is no longer safe for you, or Alex. I hope you can find a new path..."

"It hasn't been safe for a while. Ever since the Penn Station incident." She looks a little worried now. "Did Alex make it off the island okay?"

[slayers_desire]

"He did. But it will take him awhile before he will find a safe place. The Blackwatch were waiting for him on the other side of the bridge."

[kalel_ofkrypton]

"He'll make it," Dana says, relieved. "Blackwatch was a threat to him mostly because they had us all penned in on the island. If he's on the mainland, they won't be able to catch him. They'll make a good effort, but he's smarter than them."

"He wanted you to know that he was great."

[kalel_ofkrypton]

That's definitely reassuring to hear. "He'd better be. I almost lost him once, I don't want to do it again." Especially since his attitude adjustment.

Clark can understand that sentiment.

"There are a few opportunities for you, in this world, or any other you feel you would be better suited for."

[kalel_ofkrypton]

"You mean like a job?" Dana asks. "How many worlds are there anyway?"

"More than you can imagine," Clark says with a slight smile.

[slayers_desire]

"I could always use a hand around here. Most refugees don't immediately trust the green-skinned Demon." Lorne smiled softly.

"My world is trying to reclaim its own identity."

"Its identity?" Dana asks.

"It's a long story," Clark says.

[slayers_desire]

"We have a few history books of everything we endured, if you are ever interested." Lorne offers. The infant in his arms starts to awaken, giving soft little cooing sounds.

[kalel_ofkrypton]

"Sure, I could go for some reading." Dana's much more of a tech person than a book-reading person, but it's good to know more about the world you're living in, and until she completely recovers she won't be getting out and about much.

[slayers_desire]

"The library is downstairs." Lorne hands Laura over to her mother.

"Just... the history books, right Lorne?"

Dana, likewise, hands Jonathan back to Clark. "Sounds like I've got a lot of catching up to do."

"We are heading out to a little garden for a little family time. But I am glad to see you are doing well, Dana."

[kalel_ofkrypton]

"Thanks for checking up on me. You have a good time with your kids," she says, and gives a little wave to Jonathan, who waves back with a smile.

"We will. Thank you." Now that she nows that Dana is safe, it helps ease some of April's worries.

Clark is glad to see April losing some of her tensions. Coming here does seem like it was a good idea. "It was nice meeting you," he says to Dana before they leave.

April takes Clark's hand in hers, looking forward to heading to the garden now. It won't take long to head out to their little garden space either.

The garden is looking good, tended by the two of them with the occasional help of Jonathan. Clark smiles, pleased with how it's coming along. "This place looks good."

"We have done good work here." April looks around the garden, checking for producing fruits.

[kalel_ofkrypton]

"Planting time was always my favorite time of year on the farm," Clark says, letting Jonathan go wander through the plants. The little boy makes a beeline for the nearest patch of bare dirt and digs into it with his bare hands, giggling.

April chuckles at Jonathan playing in the dirt. She finds a safe place to set down Laura, where she can be watched in a safe place.

"How about harvest?"
