April had insisted for Rain and her to stay on the beach until the sunrise, she wanted to watch it with him. It had been so long since she enjoyed the sun, she just wanted to feel the warmth of the sun on her skin.

After wards, she changed (and insisted Rain did too), before using her PINpoint to open a portal to where they would find her mother. The strange thing was, she didn't give Rain a PINpoint to use himself. And that it seemed, the code she used was protected by a password.

Seconds later, when they appeared on a sidewalk heading up to a home, located near a beach itself. Rain would note, just by the surroundings, that this was definitely did not look like his home dimension and thus was not April's home dimension either. In fact, it was almost a... fifties type of neighborhood.

"This is it..." April breathed. Taking his hand.

"Probably." Rain wasn't going to argue with April's mother and he certainly wasn't going to provoke her to fight him.

Harley just smiled, leaning back in her chair. "What else will you be needing for your training area?"

"You're asking the wrong guy. I've never even given it much thought until April brought it up." he looks to April.

"I was hoping to create an interdimensional training centre, one that Rain could enter and leave in safety, without having it discovered by any enemies. Then I could use Nexus technology to create a multi-purpose site. One that could adapt to different training simulations."

"And has a bedroom, laundry room, bathroom, kitchen and other necessities of regular living."

Rain blinks. "Wow..... that sounds... AWESOME. I can't afford any of that April. Might have to try something else."

"I do not recall asking you for money, Rain." April replied.

"Fair enough, you're right." he zipped his lips.

"Then I assume your are using your trust fund for this. That is a good use for that money." Harley commented.

"I hoped you would say that." April smiled.

Rain had to speak up at that. "April no. No way. You can't use a trust fund for something like this, not for me. You've got a LONG LONG life ahead of you."

"Rain. It is a lot of money. I do not need it for school anymore. And it would be completely selfish for me just to spend it all..." April replied.

"Besides. It is tainted money." Harley admitted. "And it is better to be put to use on training a Slayer. Someone who saves lives. Protects the innocent."

Rain shakes his head, still trying to protest but he sees it's not going to get him anywhere.

"If you feel that's in your best interest, I know I can't change your mind. Just know that I appreciate it and hope I don't disappoint you."

"You won't." April said.

"We do that. The women of this family. We do our best to help the people we care about the most." Harley chuckled.

"But she's only known me..." and then he remembers she's known him for 800 years, or at least had the memory of what little she did know about him for that long.

"The other thing about the women in our family. We fall hard sometimes." Harley whispered. Remembering how it was with her and Spike.

Rain's not quite sure what to say to that, but his cheeks DO turn very red.

April is incredibly tense right now. Her mother is basically giving Rain the little details about how she feels. And there is no... reassurance he might like her back the same way.

"Well. I guess I will be okay with this." Harley finally stated.

Rain's reactions would make it obvious if anyone were watching him closely enough. The fact that he is uncomfortable make it plain that he likes April very much and is very interested in her. Rain Spencer is rarely shy and rarely blushes. He doesn't know how Harley can speak for April or how she knows how April feels but he doesn't know when he'll see Harley again so he gets up the courage to ask.

"Thank you Harley. Um... would it be... I mean if you don't mind.. do you think.." he's not sure how to ask. His mother always engrained politeness and manners in him.

"I.. really like your daughter. I know I'm not the perfect choice but .. if it were to.. I dunno.. be something that interested us both.. uh...would you be opposed to my being more than friends with April?"

Smooth Rain, real smooth.

He went a little pale at how uncool that came out of his mouth. If that didn't tell April he was interested though, not much would.

The reason Harley knows how April feels, is because of years of training as a shrink. She can read people. And with her daughter, it is quite easy.

Harley watches his stumbling with an amused smile. She glances at April, knowing her daughter would have no hesitation to the offer. "I see no issues with that."

Rain smiled. "Well then.. that's great." What else could he say without looking like a moron.

"It will be nice. To know my daughter is someone safe." Harley comments. Giving Rain a slight wink.

Rain looks at April although speaking to Harley. "I'll take good care of her. Not that she can't take care of herself."

"Rain..." April whispers. Leaning over to kiss him lightly on the lips.

Rain certainly wasn't expecting that. Especially in front of Harley, but he returns the kiss and then smiles at her.

"I imagine you kids have a lot to do today. Like move and the like..." Harley chuckles. Standing. "Thank you April. For coming to see me. I appreciate it."

Rain stands, offering a shake again. "It was an honor meeting you Harley.
