April was a little nervous, truth be told. She wasn't nervous about spending time with Jack Harkness again, as she considered him a good friend.

She was more nervous about bringing him to the Vampire Village to talk to Spike.

So much time had passed for Jack, since he last saw Spike. But it was a completely different story for Spike. And so much could go wrong.

April just hoped that things worked out...

"Was going to wait and strip you down when it was time..." Spike chuckled.

April groans softly. Shasta comes to sit at her side, a small smile of understanding. "It's okay not to come, if you don't feel comfortable."

Oh, those twenty-first century taboos. Jack never fails to be amused by how old-fashioned they are. But he also understands that if you're not comfortable doing something, you shouldn't be forced to do it. "If it's not your thing, it's not your thing."

"She has only been nude around her husband." Shasta has no judgement in her voice. Just an understanding for her 'daughter'.

"You go have fun Jack. I will just stay here."

Jack nods in understanding, not bothered by it.

Besides... her staying behind has an unexpected upside for him. "Can I ask you a favor, then?"

"That shouldn't be a problem. What do you need?"

He unstraps his vortex manipulator from his wrist, and holds it out to her. "No material possessions means I can't wear this, I'm guessing. I'd like you to keep it safe for me." He does not want to run the risk of losing it. It's the most important thing he owns... the only important thing he owns. It's battered and old, and it doesn't work the way it used to, but it's the one thing left from his old life. And the one thing that might someday give him the freedom of the galaxy that he once had before, and all the time in it.

Most importantly, it's one of his last links to the Doctor.

"I will keep it protected, I promise." April gently takes the vortex manipulator. Holding it close.

"Be safe tonight." She expects the Solace dance to go into other celebrations. And knows that Jack will make his own decisions. So will her father.

Jack hasn't been separated from his wristcomp for over a hundred fifty years, and his arm feels oddly naked without its comforting weight wrapped around it. But the last time he went someplace where clothing was banned, he ended up running into violent trouble from the locals when he neglected to take it off. He doubts that will happen here, but better safe than sorry.

"What's life without a little danger?" Jack replies with a grin, mostly joking.

((Best kind of randomness! Just let them talk it out. :) I think they came to a good arrangement. Jack can't promise anything and he certainly won't be monogamous, but that's okay.))

((There is one thing we could've done that occurred to me long after it would've been good to bring it up. During Jack's initial run on Doctor Who, the three of them were being "followed" through time and space by the words Bad Wolf, which would show up in dialogue or graffiti or the names of places, and got to the point where they realized it was some kind of warning or message to pay close attention. At this point Jack hasn't found out the source of that yet, and Jash was sort of the big bad wolf...))
