There was much to do in LA, now that the zombires were defeated and removed as a threat. People in the Buffyverse universe were believing in new opportunities again. The Seed of Wonder was returning hope and creativity to everyone.

And sure, not all the threats were gone, but the world was so much safe.

Today, April and Clark were helping fix houses, collect food for families, and help return society back to normal. April enjoyed this kind of work, hands-on work that helped everyone. She couldn't stop smiling...

Perhaps it was because she always knew that her world could be safer... and now it is getting there.

He wants her world to be safe and secure again, both for her sake and for their son's, when they finally bring him here. And, of course, for all the people who live here now. "We're still in city limits. There's bound to be forest further out."

"Lets look out a little further out then."

Clark turns, heading out from the city center. It's hard to pass over all the houses and debris, but it helps to know that this isn't only up to them to fix. This is a community effort.

It won't take long for him to reach the edges of the city, where there are less and less buildings.

April reaches out with her voices now, once they reach the edges of the city. She is looking for an area that feels... peaceful. "There is a small abandoned greenhouse north, they were also a nursery. The soil is rich... I sense a spiritual connection there."

Clark turns again, adjusting his flight path until he's going the right way. It doesn't take long to spot the little greenhouse, and he drops towards it, carefully coming in for a landing just outside of it.

April settles herself once they are on the ground. There are a lot of ground here that was already worked over for gardens. It won't be as difficult to work that ground again.

And a few trees still stand. Determined to last through disaster.

"Something is special about this place."

"What do you feel?" he asks, curious.

[slayers_desire]

"Is it like being in the presence of The Mother again. There is so much... potential here."

[kalel_ofkrypton]

He can't feel that, but he does feel the warmth and brightness of the sunlight, and the good smell of green growing things. "It's a nice little place."

April can show him what she means better, just by opening her psychic senses to him. The aura around them glows with nutrients, and plants waiting to grow again.

"The first priority will be opening the soil again."

"There are probably gardening tools somewhere nearby, if we want to start now." Working the earth speaks to the farmer in him, and no matter how much he's become a city boy in his adulthood, that part of him will never leave him. He will always enjoy working with his hands, helping things to grow.

"Could we?" April didn't want to decide between working on homes in the city, and working on this project.

"There are plenty of volunteers in the city. And very few things were ever built in a day. If you think that this is important, I don't see why we couldn't."

"I do think it is important." There is something very special about this place. And her artistic side is already picturing garden designs and a new community centre, where the greenhouse is situated.

"Then let's see if we can find some hoes." They probably won't be able to do more than clean up and prepare the area for now, but it's certainly a start.

April enters the greenhouse, dusting away cobwebs from her hair and clothes. It is hot inside the greenhouse still, even with a few of the windows broken.

She finds a few supplies inside a gardening shed, and starts pulling them out.

Clark comes over to help, sorting out what they can use now from what they'll need later. There are other things in the shed too, like bags of fertilizer and some seed jars. "We'll need to get some new glass panes on our next trip."

"And advise any people to wear gardening clothing..." April chuckles. She feels a little overheated as it is. But then again... vampires and sunlight don't usually work well together.

Clark doesn't mind, but he thrives on sunlight, and knows that others don't have that same advantage. "Gloves at the very least," he agrees. "Do we want to transplant, or start from seed? Any trees should be planted as saplings, but for smaller plants, I'm not sure."

April looks around. She had layered to keep some of her clothing dirt-free, but she removes one of the outer layers at the moment.

"We will have to transplant most of the flowers, fruits and vegetables. Most of the plants that were planted in here are now nutrients for the soil."

Clark takes one of the hoes and begins digging up the dead plants, turning them over into the soil so they can break down and give their nutrients to the earth. He spots a couple of weeds and pulls them out so their seeds don't mix in with the rich soil.

"It's been a long time since I've done any gardening." He's rather missed it.

"You look good covered in dirt."

[kalel_ofkrypton]

"If I get too dirty, I might have to take my shirt off," he teases her, flirting a little.

[slayers_desire]

"I would enjoy that..." She admits. Because she would.

"I'm sure that was your plan all along."
