There was much to do in LA, now that the zombires were defeated and removed as a threat. People in the Buffyverse universe were believing in new opportunities again. The Seed of Wonder was returning hope and creativity to everyone.

And sure, not all the threats were gone, but the world was so much safe.

Today, April and Clark were helping fix houses, collect food for families, and help return society back to normal. April enjoyed this kind of work, hands-on work that helped everyone. She couldn't stop smiling...

Perhaps it was because she always knew that her world could be safer... and now it is getting there.

"Well well look at the muscles on that one..." Another flirtatious voice speaks behind them. This time, it belongs to his wife, April.

Fortunately, Clark recognizes her voice. "Mrs. Kent, does your husband know you're flirting with strange men?" he asks as he turns.

[slayers_desire]

"My husband is out of town..." April teases him slightly.

[kalel_ofkrypton]

"Be honest, you saw that whole thing, didn't you?"

[slayers_desire]

"Saw what?" April had just came over to check on their work, after finishing consoling the little girl.

[kalel_ofkrypton]

"Some members of the community are recovering faster than others," he says with a slightly sheepish grin.

[slayers_desire]

She gets a slight hint that something had happened, just by his sheepish grin. But she also knew that she had nothing to worry about.

"Well that is good. The sooner they get back to normal... right?"

[kalel_ofkrypton]

"Yeah. I'm sure they'll start remembering to check for wedding rings on their targets after today." Spike isn't wearing one, of course, but Clark still is.

"Such a handsome man as you... I can see why anyone would be tempted."

[kalel_ofkrypton]

"I haven't had to turn somebody down like that for a while." Mostly because the only one who usually flirts with him is someone he doesn't need to turn down.

[slayers_desire]

"I am not the only one out there that finds you attractive you know..." April moves closer to him. "I am just the one who earned such an amazing man in my life."

[kalel_ofkrypton]

Clark moves closer to give her a kiss of affection. "I'm not the only one drawing attention today, either," he adds with a nod towards Spike.

Spike shrugged his shoulders. "Little birds wanted to take the both of us out."

"No interest there father?" April teased him.

"No luv. Shasta is the only one for me."

[kalel_ofkrypton]

"We were actually discussing when might be a good time to bring Shasta here," Clark adds, figuring now is as good a time as any to bring it up.

[slayers_desire]

"Really?" April smiles. It does her heart good to know her father is getting more serious in his relationship.

"I would be happy to show her around."

[kalel_ofkrypton]

"Do you think she might want to help with the recovery effort?" Clark asks. Now that this world is regaining its balance, it's safer, and they need all the help they can get.

[slayers_desire]

"Maybe a little... she won't want to stay too long. Jash can't be left alone for too long." Spike knows that it is a balancing act.

April remembers how Jash treated her during the hunt. She doesn't care for him. "You really care about her father. That is wonderful."

[kalel_ofkrypton]

"We're pretty happy for you."

[slayers_desire]

"I am happy for you two." Spike picks up a bucket of nails. Then heads into the next room to fix more of the house.

April picks up a doll from the floor, dusting it off softly. "He still doesn't think he deserves a family."

"Everyone deserves a family. I wish he could see that."

[slayers_desire]

April touches his face softly. "He has had a hard life. A long one, full of regrets. It will take time, but he will get there."

[kalel_ofkrypton]

"Shasta's good for him. He's softened up a bit since they got involved." He's a little worried about the lifespan difference, but hopes that they will have plenty of time together before that becomes a problem.

[slayers_desire]

"You were good for me. Every now and then, people find that right person."

[kalel_ofkrypton]

He smiles a little. "Those people are lucky."
