from every tree an acorn will fall
Four days had passed since Clark and April first encountered the Darkness that was threatening the world. Since then, Kara had truly stepped into her role of 'Maiden of Might' and was being talked about all over the country. And she was inspiring hope while doing it... fighting the Darkness with small steps.
There were still unanswered questions since their first encounter with the Darkness. The most uneasy question was why April's voices were half-whispering to her. The whispers would come without reason and leave quickly without figuring out why the whispers were happening.
April had tried tuning into the whispers with no luck. And the last four days with them coming and going had left her feeling tired. She also knows that Clark was concerned about her too.
Laying in bed, the sun had risen a couple hours earlier. Clark was out doing chores and April was just waking up. A half-whisper came... causing another rush of dizziness just as her feet touched the floor. And something else... April didn't have time to try to sit down.
She knew this feeling. A feeling of nausea that had her rushing to the bathroom. And making it just in time to get sick into the toilet. Not the best way to wake up...

Martha looks surprised, but not as if it wasn't something she suspected. "Oh..." She's not sure what to say. She still thinks she sees him sometimes, out of the corner of her eye, but to really see him... "I wish he could see you both right now. And once the baby is born."

"And I just know that if this is a Jonathan..." April touches her belly again, "Or a Laura. Either would make him so happy."

"We had a good example," Clark tells her, and knows that it's true for both of them. Even if April was a relatively late addition to the family, she's a Kent now, in every way that matters.

"Except the morning sickness," Clark says with a wry smile.
