here we go again

Clark had gone missing again. And this time, even though April still felt the bond, she couldn't connect to him through the bond. So didn't know where he was, or who took him, and was as confused as Lana and Chloe as they searched the barn for clues

However, April found something that didn't belong to Clark, but was not connected to his disappearance. It was a spool of thread. And it triggered a vision of Aurora. The last witch.

Knowing that she had to face her destiny, April left the mystery of Clark's disappearance in the hands of Lana and Chloe to solve. She needed someone to help her, and with Raya away there was only one person that came to mind.

Bizarro would help her. And April PINpointed to his new residence, hoping he was free. Her mind filled with concern for Clark, but also knowing that Aurora couldn't be left unattended.

He smiles, now, again reminded of the tree. "I love you, and I always will."

"And you better be careful, once I don't feel so achy its back to the flirty girl you know and love."

"Speaking of which, how are you feeling? You're looking a lot better."

"Awww you missed that flirty girl?" April teased lightly.

She finished her blood, the healing taking care of the most severe of the damage first, and slowly removing the blisters and bruises now.

"Better. Not as vampiric, which is good. I was so angry."

He nods. "You had reason to be, between the both of us."

As for him, that bone-deep ache is still there, but worlds better than the constant torture he's been undergoing ever since he was put in that kryptonite cell. With time, that will fade, and getting under sunlight will help even faster. But he's too tired to fly somewhere that it's still daytime, and he doesn't mind waiting. Giving them both a chance to recover.

While Clark needs sunlight to recover, April requires the darkness and her blood. She wishes she could give him the sunlight that hurt her, take away her wounds and heal his.

"I could be convinced to give a certain hero a back massage."

"Can I have a rain check?" He keeps smiling, though. "Not that I don't appreciate the offer or anything. I'd rather just hold you right now."

"Of course." If there was one thing she knew how to handle was rain checks in their relationship.

"You going to hold me until sunrise and get some energy back?" She lays carefully into his lap.

"Unless we get tired of the couch and try to make it upstairs," he says, not sure if he's going to feel much like moving. The couch is comfortable, and there are many fond memories of the two of them on this couch.

"I've got to warn you, though, I might doze off on you."

"I don't feel like climbing any stairs tonight, and you are not healed enough to carry me. So the couch will do just fine."

"Doze ahead. I will shortly follow anyway."

He runs his hands through her hair. "Then I'll see you in the morning."

The soft caress through her hair is enough to relax April, so she falls into a gentle sleep. Darker thoughts of her mind attempt to influence her dreams with the bad stuff that had happened, but she holds tight to Clark and thinks of the tree to get through the night undisturbed.

((April plot is settled until we are ready for Arctic. I would like our pups to face their destinies around the same time.

((Not sure. Veritas and Descent are important, but Clark's involvement in the events are brief. He's barely involved in Sleeper, too, and the plot of Apocalypse isn't going to happen at all because my Clark's self-confidence is quite a bit higher than his canon counterpart's, so he would go to Krypton right away instead of doing the AU thing.

Clark's due for a Nexus post, so maybe I could put him in post-Descent, and our next solo thread could be Quest. The only snag is the whole Brainiac-attacking-Lana thing that happens in canon. I'm not sure it would work with April in her place, since she would be more able to fight back, so maybe we should keep it as Lana. Thoughts?))

Yah for him going to Krypton right away!

We do need to figure out something regarding Brainaic, as April would know it is not really Kara after Apocalypse. How much of his role is important to Arctic?

((Yeah, Brainiac always seem to cause trouble for us players, lol.

His involvement is pretty major in Arctic, I think. Since he's the one who tells Lex where to find the Fortress and to take the orb there. And what he does to Chloe is important for the next season when Doomsday shows up.

"Kara" doesn't have a lot of screentime in between Apocalypse and Arctic happening. We could just say that April never runs into him, especially since he's not even in Quest at all.))

((That works. April won't know Kara isn't Kara. We could have him still influence Lex, and make his impact to Chloe. I don't think the effect on Lana is necessary, is it?))

((I thought that Brainiac taking Lana hostage was basically what forced Kara to come back to Krypton with him in the first place. We could try to come up with some kind of alternate way of persuading her, so it wouldn't be necessary.))

((We could use April's voices to encourage Kara to go. Lana going catatonic just wouldn't have as much as an effect on everyone as it did in canon. And I can't see Brainaic effecting April that way.))

((Yeah, that sounds a lot better. I've been sitting here wondering what to do because I didn't think it would work with April either, and while Lana's important to Clark, she's not his girlfriend or anything. So we can just handwave it saying that April's voices told her it was important to let Kara go with Brainiac, and as far as April knows, Kara came home safe because Clark said she did rather than seeing it herself.))
