After allowing herself a couple of days of readjusting to having her voices back, April decided to call Jake Sully. She was interested in meeting some of his people, especially the tsahik that he had spoke about. Maybe it was an opportunity to enhance her pyschic gifts, by meeting a race that had their own connection.

Using her PINpoint phone to dial Jake's number, April nervously twirled her hair while it rang.

"I want to open myself to Eywa. See her in spirit and mind. If there is anyway I can connect with her... open my mind I am willing to try."

"We have never done such a thing with a Sky Person before," Mo'at tells her. "Jake'Suully and Grace'Augustine are the only dreamwalkers to pass through the eye of Eywa, and you have no dreamwalker body to join."

"Taking her to the Tree of Souls might be a bit much at first anyway," Jake adds. "Maybe we could start with the small stuff, and work our way up. Like when I was learning to make tsaheylu myself."

"I could show you what I can do. And you could determine if it is worthy of Eywa." April offered. "I do not want to disrespect your culture."

"That would be good," Mo'at agrees. "It is difficult to find a single tree in a forest you do not know."

"Do you need anything to, uh, demonstrate on?" Jake asks.

"I will use my abilities that do not need a person. The visions. And then if necessary, I might ask to demonstrate my telepathy if needed."

April closes her eyes and opens her voices to her surroundings. She is looking for something that would be important, or perhaps unknown to others, to demonstrate her abilities.

Mo'at is difficult to please, as Jake has learned over the last few months, and it will take much evidence to impress her. Both she and Jake sit and wait for April to present her proof.

The visions are few, more of a whisper. An image of the old Hometree, strong and tall, before it fell and burned. A Na'vi woman on the back of an enormous black six-legged beast, pouncing on a large mechanical suit. That same woman, holding a small blue infant in her arms, coming to greet Jake returning from a hunt.

"I see a different Hometree. There is a woman, who rides a six-legged beast, and together they punced on a large mechanical suit."

"That same woman is then holding an infant. And she is waiting to greet you Jake." April opens her eyes to reorient herself.

"Neytiri, on the thanator," Jake says, but he sounds puzzled. "We don't have any kids."

"Then perhaps whatever spirit guides this woman is telling you of some on the way," Mo'at says, not sounding surprised. "The songs tell of Toruk Makto being blessed with many children."

Sensing that Mo'at is not impressed by the vision, April takes a breath. She doesn't want to impose on someone else's mind.

So she sets down her PINpoint on the floor. "I can also do this." And she lifts it with her mind.

Mo'at inspects the floating object, passing her hands under, above, and around it to test that it isn't a trick. But even this has no sense of wonder to her, living on a world where mountains float in the sky on their own. "This Eywa can do also."

"But for a Sky Person?" April gently wonders. She expects the people in Jake's world to be talented with their gifts.

"Parker had a shard of unobtainium floating on a magnet in his office," Jake says, glancing back between her and Mo'at. "What about the telepathy thing? Why not give that a go?"

"What is this 'telly-pay-thee'?" Mo'at asks, pronouncing the unfamiliar word as best she can on first hearing.

"Well it is basically when I talk to your mind." April reaches out to Mo'at to demonstrate her gift. She caresses only the edges of her mind, Using these gifts I am able to create a bond with my friends.

This gets her attention, because it is more like tsaheylu and communing with Eywa than anything she's shown so far. "You speak with no tswin. I hear you, but do not See you."

Expanding her focus on both Mo'at and Jake, April continues to explain. I can create the telepathic contact with more than one person. With concentration and focus.

"Then this is how you must connect with Eywa," Mo'at proclaims. "It will be difficult. You must not try too hard, or She may overwhelm you."

"I am willing to take it slow. To take one step at a time."

"I get the feeling that being here will help me grow into my powers. Become more connected with Eywa."

"If you speak to all of Eywa as you have done now, I believe you speak the truth," Mo'at agrees. "As young hunters begin with pa'li and end with ikran, so must you take steps."

"I will keep my mind open." April relaxes some of her defenses to allow more of Jake's world into her sense.

Just doing that much, opening her mind nonspecifically, the senses of millions of living creatures flood her mental senses. From tiny insects to even the enormous trees, Pandora is heavy with life, all of it existing in a complex, almost overwhelming web of connection. It's a lot to take in all at once, and quite probably disorienting, like being in a room full of millions of people who are all shouting in your ears.

"Whoa..." April has to put up her defenses in fear of being overwhelmed and losing her abilities. "Ewya is everywhere. There is so much to listen to. So much to see. How do you keep... in control?"

"We See Her not by embracing Her all at once," Mo'at says. "We cannot. We See Her through Her parts, by making tsaheylu with trees, animals, Na'vi. One at a time, all connected."

This time April decides to start with something familiar, and opens her senses to Jake only. Then to Mo'at, and they were connected to her once.

It's a bit trippy, to Jake, to be Seeing more than one person at once. It feels a little like peeking into someone's private diary, with that other person in the room. "Wow, that's kinda weird."

"I won't go deeper than invited. That would be disrespectful." April ensures Jake. She embraces the readings that she gets from both of them.
