kidnapping Clark to a red-sun Earth

Things were bad. April had received a piece of silver kryptonite that had infected Clark with paranoia. Worse, the person she had thought had sent it actually had not. Which made her believe that Professor Fine, aka Brainaic, was behind the infection.

Clark had gone to the Nexus, where lucky Victor was able to intercept him. Through text messages and planning, April sent Victor the coordinates to an Earth with a red sun. One of the back-up plan places that April had established previously... just in case they ever had to deal with Clark in red Krpytonite or brainwashed state again.

She stood outside an apartment in the universe, waiting for Victor to show up. The red sun above her made her uneasy, but it was the only way to deal with Clark without his powers.

She draws several sharp breaths when the vision stops. And softly grasps Clark's hand in response. "I was standing at a mirror. Looking at my own aura. When... a green glow appeared at my core. And slowly... spread out and consumed everything."

"It was like watching that dark tendril take over your aura."

"Sorry... for spacing out."

[identity profile] victormakesart.livejournal.com 2011-02-22 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
At first, green glow didn't sound so bad, but when she uses words like 'dark tendril' and 'take over' it sounds significantly less good, and Victor frowns a little. "Did you get any other impressions from it?"

[identity profile] kalel-ofkrypton.livejournal.com 2011-02-22 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
Clark doesn't have very good associations with the color green, so he's concerned from the get-go. He squeezes her hand a little, trying not to look overly concerned, but unable to hide it completely. "Don't apologize. It sounds important."

[identity profile] slayers-desire.livejournal.com 2011-02-22 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
"I have seen it before. In shared visions with Cordelia. Its the symbol of an evil force in Rome. The thing that brought back Jasmine. And The Beast."

April shivers slightly. "The voices are warning me of an attack."

[identity profile] victormakesart.livejournal.com 2011-02-22 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, now none of these words sound like good words, and she reaches over to touch the back of her shoulder, lightly. "I'm really sorry. Um. At, at least you've got a warning? What can we do to help?"

[identity profile] kalel-ofkrypton.livejournal.com 2011-02-22 10:59 am (UTC)(link)
Clark is really worried, especially in light of what just happened to him. He hugs her tightly. "Is there anything we can do to help?"

[identity profile] slayers-desire.livejournal.com 2011-02-22 02:29 pm (UTC)(link)
It is really reassuring to have offers of help from both of them. "I am thinking I need to break some of my own rules about knowing about my dimension. And watch the TV series to learn about these enemies."

"Can you help me with that?"

[identity profile] victormakesart.livejournal.com 2011-02-22 03:05 pm (UTC)(link)
It is really super against her own rules, and she has this little anxious jolt thinking about it. Victor is a person who is governed but what she will or will not allow herself to do. "We... we could marathon or something, if you want. Who're your folks? What's the series?"

[identity profile] kalel-ofkrypton.livejournal.com 2011-02-22 03:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Clark nods in agreement. He has issues with spoilers himself, and walks a very fine line between cheating and gathering information, but if this is what she wants to do and thinks it's best, he's behind her all the way. "Whatever you feel is the right course of action, I'm with you," he promises, giving her hand a gentle squeeze of reassurance.

[identity profile] slayers-desire.livejournal.com 2011-02-22 03:20 pm (UTC)(link)
This is the hardest thing April ever had to say. "I... I was never a character in the TV series. Or the comics. So there won't be much spoilerage for myself. I just need to learn about these enemies."

"It is called the Buffyverse. There were two TV shows, one based off Buffy and the Scoobies in Sunnydale. And one based off Angel and his allies in Los Angeles. My parents were Spike and Drusila."

((hitting the road. be back later tonight))

[identity profile] victormakesart.livejournal.com 2011-02-22 04:06 pm (UTC)(link)
There's recognition, even if it isn't on her face, or in her body-language. This is a series she's familiar with, but she's used to turning off visible reactions to shows in front of the people who live there. "I can... hook you up. If you're sure about it. If it'd make you more comfortable for me to rewatch relevant episodes and report back to you, I can do that too."

She can imagine how unnerving it would be to watch loved ones on television, see intimate parts of their lives that she was never meant to see, their breakdowns, their indiscretions. Victor watched Doctor Who before she met the Doctor, but she's watched the show afterwards too, seeing where he's straying from the series, and (well) watching one of her favorite shows. And there were episodes that broke her heart, left her clinging onto him, tense and worried and unable to tell him why.

((Have fun!))

[identity profile] kalel-ofkrypton.livejournal.com 2011-02-22 04:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Clark hasn't really ever seen the series himself, but having encountered his own canon on more than one occasion, he can understand the awkwardness inherent in looking yourself up. Although he doesn't have to worry about the added strangeness of not being in the most common versions of it. "It's your choice."

[identity profile] slayers-desire.livejournal.com 2011-02-22 11:14 pm (UTC)(link)
"I think I will be okay watching it with both of you. When it gets to dark parts concerning my parents..." Because April is realistic and knows that there will be those dark moments. "...I can leave the room if it gets too much."

((April's mun hates winter driving. glad she is home))

[identity profile] victormakesart.livejournal.com 2011-02-23 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
Victor remembers some of those dark moments, and while she didn't dislike their characters (honestly, they're pretty awesome, and Victor loves a well-written villain) she can see how their daughter might not want to watch them. "Understandable. We can make a day of it. Maybe get you stuff that you like, too? So you have something to look forward to, and the day isn't just stressy?"

((Oof!))

[identity profile] kalel-ofkrypton.livejournal.com 2011-02-23 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
"That sounds like a good idea," Clark agrees.

((Clark's mun just did some of that too. Gosh, it's awful.))

[identity profile] slayers-desire.livejournal.com 2011-02-23 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
"Sounds like we got the making for a full day of stuff." April chuckles lightly. She touches Clark's hand. Silently hoping he won't judge her parents too poorly when he sees the TV series.

((glad for RPing distraction. Anytime we want to start our next scene together I am ready. Any journal preferences?))

[identity profile] victormakesart.livejournal.com 2011-02-23 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah." A brief pause. "Now... something to keep in mind is that showing people being happy and normal isn't good television. Television likes to show the worst of folks. You get more viewers that way, when you break the audience's heart."

((I'm pretty mellow. Maybe tomorrow, or the next day? And whichever journal you'd like. I'd be cool with it in mine.))

[identity profile] kalel-ofkrypton.livejournal.com 2011-02-23 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
There's a subdued wave of resentment from Clark, because he's struggled with that on a personal level, hating whoever invented the idea of Superman because of how much crap he has to put up with because of it. But he forces it down to sit in support of his girlfriend. "And just because something happens in a TV show doesn't mean it'll happen to you," he adds, and wonders if his fictional self ever had to face half as much crap as the real person does. Especially with this recent problem with silver kryptonite and Brainiac.

((Victor's would make sense. And I am up for more whenever it happens.))

[identity profile] slayers-desire.livejournal.com 2011-02-23 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
The thing that makes the difference is that April didn't have any TV writers to dictate bad stuff to her. Just a mun who loves drama

"How about we get together tomorrow? Clark should be feeling better by then."

((Victor's journal works for me!))

[identity profile] victormakesart.livejournal.com 2011-02-23 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, just might," she says, stretching her legs out in front of her, and scratching at the back of her head. Chin tilting back, scanning the sky, more at ease than she's been in a decent chunk of time.

((Oh, so is our next thread for the show-thing, or for the lab-thing? I was thinking that the lab thing would be our next thread.))

[identity profile] kalel-ofkrypton.livejournal.com 2011-02-23 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
"Speaking of feeling better," Clark says. He's still not near a hundred percent, but the tremble in his hands seems to be gone, his temperature is normal again, and he feels like he could probably stand up without wanting to fall over.

"This may be a bit of a weird question, but, um, do you maybe have a knife or a needle you don't care so much about?" he asks Victor.

[identity profile] slayers-desire.livejournal.com 2011-02-23 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
April is curious to Clark's question. She looks vaguely concerned.

((lab-thing definitely. We can always lead to show-thing afterwards, or just behind the scenes it depending on timing))

[identity profile] victormakesart.livejournal.com 2011-02-23 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
"You want to see if you're back to being invulnerable, huh?" She digs through her bag, presents him with a needle, still in its wrapping. Needles she can get more of. Knives are more expensive, even if she only uses them to cut rope and apples and stuff.

((Okay, awesome!))

[identity profile] kalel-ofkrypton.livejournal.com 2011-02-23 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
He nods. "Just to be sure." He still has a lot of nagging doubts left behind by the silver kryptonite, and it's hard for him to tell if it's just a natural reaction to what he just went through or leftover paranoia, and he wants to make sure that he's still invulnerable and that Brainiac didn't somehow damage that part of him when he was infected.

He unwraps the needle and unhesitatingly jabs it into the palm of his hand. Fortunately, the needle breaks instantly, snapping into three pieces as it fractures against his flesh. He wiggles his fingers as if testing them. "Good."

[identity profile] slayers-desire.livejournal.com 2011-02-23 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
Even with Clark being invulnerable, still seeing him jab the needle into his hand is a little concerning. And April releases a breath of air when it breaks. And there is no blood detected by her senses.

"I am glad the sunlight helped you get back to normal."
