troubles with caring for a Vampire

The last 36-hours, while no training for Rain, was still stressful for the young Slayer. After all, he was responsible for a caged Beast, as April was temporarily without her soul. She had sacrificed her soul for 72 hours, so that Rain would be able to reclaim a moment with his dead parents and sister. And if she had been in her right mind -- she would have been at his side and ensuring that he understood why she wanted to give him that moment.

But April was not in her right mind. The Beast was in control. And it was being as difficult for the Slayer as it could be. So far, any attempts to give April raw steak had been out-flat refused. Instead, selfishly and stubbornly, the Vampire had been pouting in a corner of her cage.

Rain was tired. He sat there nursing his coffee. It sucked to see April pout but he wasn't stupid. He knew this would pass eventually and she'd be herself again. In the meantime he had to put up with a soulless bitch who just happened to LOOK like his girlfriend. That's what he had to keep telling himself. It wasn't really April, not at the core.

"You sure you don't want something to eat?" he asked, exasperated.

"The blood you keep bringing me is offensive." The Vampire growled.

"Well unless you know a place that delivers pig's blood or something in bulk, it's all I've got."

((sorry, fell asleep. Bad weather makes me drowsy))

"Pig's blood." The Vampire makes a face. She clutches the bars. "That is like offering a thirsty person imaginary tea. It is just not the same..."

"Then I guess you're gonna be thirsty for awhile." He leans back in his chair, flipping through a magazine. It's almost as if he was trying not to look at her. Looking at her made it harder.

"You were the one who was all concerned." She scoffed lightly. Leaning against the bars, the Vampire fiddled at the buttons on her shirt.

"Concerned about what?" he asked. "You? Of course I'm concerned. I don't like my girlfriend going hungry but if you won't take what I've got then you're out of luck."

Her eyes studied him for a second. "Fine. Bring what you have."

"But I make no excuses for being difficult. I am tired. I stink..." She snapped a couple of buttons open, as she started to remove her shirt. "And I am bored."

Rain got up and went to the fridge, getting a raw steak. He brought it back and set it on the floor, sliding it under the bars.

"I can hose you down if you stink that bad and if you're bored, I'll wheel a T.V. in here or give you a book."

He watches her. "Why are you getting undressed?

"Is it possible to be treated any more like an animal." April glared at the steak that had been slide under the bars. And the referece to being hosed down.

"I told you... I stink. My clothes stink." She pushed her shirt through the bars. Then leaned her forehead close to look at him.

The steak did have a knife and fork on the plate, he wasn't treating her completely like an animal. He did still love her.

"Hey, I'm sorry you're taking it that way. It's not like I can let you out to take a shower now can i?"

He took the shirt. "I'll get you some hot soapy water and a sponge if you want to take a sponge bath for now, and some clean clothes." Yes, he felt guilty.

"I just want to feel the water on my skin. This smell is... to much for my senses." If possible, April sounded almost apologetic for her attitude. "Isn't there a way to chain me up and just let me shower... you can stay with me the whole time."

Rain thought about it for a moment. He was probably going to regret this. He sighed and went to another part of the training room. He got a pair of handcuffs and brought them back. "Get undressed and put these on." he said, sliding them through the bars.

"He had some kinda chip in his head though didn't he?"

"True... but... Buffy was the one that iniated their sexual moments. And Spike could have harmed her, after she had been resurracted." April sighs.

"But he still loved her. In his own way. Vampires can love. It is just a little bit darker."

"You're the vampire. You'd know better than I would." he said, stepping out of the shower and picking up a towel.

"And no matter what I say, you will not believe me in this state."

"You taught me to be cautious April. If I let my guard down and something happens..."

Drying off, April just shrugged. "So I suppose I am going back to the cage now."

"I guess you could stay out, do things as long as you don't get too far from me." He didn't want to mistreat the woman he loved. He was struggling with this greatly. How not to be mean but not to fuck up.

"There is still 30 hours. And you require sleep." April found a nightgown to place over her naked body.

"I've stayed up longer." He says, but he did look tired. "I guess I hate seeing my girlfriend in a cage. Especially since you did it for me."

"You will repay the favor." April moved towards the cage, cleaning out her dirty clothing first. Picking up the steak, the smell reminded her of how hungry she was. Slicing off a piece, she looked back at him, as if waiting for something.

He raised a brow. "What?" He wasn't sure what she was waiting for.
