healing abilities don't lessen the pain
A flickering of light in the middle of April's apartment had foretold the PINpoint portal's appearance. It flashed, leaving the young woman kneeling on the ground, struggling to keep her weakening arms and knees strong against the anguish of pain from The Beast's attack. Already her healing abilities were at work to reduce the ill effects on her body. The sprained ankle, the bruises around her neck, the scrapes on her arms, the black eye, and the dark bruising of being kicked in the stomach.
It would take time to heal everything. And right now... April was barely able to crawl across the floor to her bathroom, where she puked up her last meal, and some blood from internal injuries.
Sitting against the cool bathroom wall, April steadied her breathing. Gritted her teeth against another wave of pain, as slowly she removed the torn and bloody clothing from her body. First her shirt, then her pants. And threw them at the hamper... missing it completely.
Glancing up to the bathroom cabinet, where the first aid kit was kept, April attempted to stand. But failed that too. Returning to her seated position very quickly when her legs just didn't have the strength anymore.
Fighting against the parts of her mind that told her to sleep, April crawled to where her pants had fallen and pulled out the PINpoint in them. She wasn't quite sure what she should message Clark, as part of her worried about sending him full details and making him feel concerned. But she should at the very least let him know that she was home now. Safe again.
Clark. I have returned back to Kansas. Give me a call when you can.
With that message sent, April took several deep breaths and attempted standing again. This time she had just enough strength to grab at the First Aid Kit, and have it fall down beside her on the bathroom floor. Opening the kit, she pulled out the wrapped roll of bandages, and started nursing her injuries back to health. Starting with her sprained foot.

Then a lightbulb goes over her head. "Hey! I could practice my powers on you. Then I wouldn't worry about dropping you. Or hurting you. Because your flying powers would keep you safe."

"And more flying for you." She knows that makes him happy.

Through half-closed eyes, she envisions the glittering again, and seems to realize that the shining is coming from Clark's skin. "Oh... its you that glows."

He's surprised, though, at what she says next, and he can't help glancing down at himself. "It is?"

It makes sense to why this vision was trying so hard to reach her. This whole night April had wondered how she could ever show Clark how proud of him she is. And the visions wanted to let her know that sometime... in the future... his heroism would be embodied forever in bronze. That people would respect him. Love him. Accept him.

"I hope they'll get my good side," he says softly, and when he thinks about what it might look like, he can't imagine it without that caped costume that his older self wears, the iconic supersuit. And he hopes they don't make him look ridiculous.

"Darn. All good. All incredibly handsome. How do I choose?"

She truly believes in living life to the fullest. And is glad that she can be passionate and joyous in Clark's arms.

And she is not talking about the heat vision effects.

"It is that spark that keeps me strong. That keeps me from worrying needlessly about what may happen... because whatever comes our way..."
"We have each other." She leans into place her lips on his tattoo.
