Rome adventures: open to Clark and Xander

April felt blessed in the fact that she was getting closer to Clark's family in Smallville. Especially since every time she visited with Martha and Jonathan, she could sense their approval and that they were glad she made Clark happy. It was so important to her to share more of her world with Clark in return, and introduce him to someone from the Buffyverse.

So after deciding on Xander, April first sat down with the older man and explained about her visits to the Nexus. And how she had made several friends there. And how she started dating someone from another universe. And that she would like to introduce her boyfriend to Xander.

With those basics covered, April was ready to contact Clark and invite him back to Rome. This time to meet someone from her world. And waiting for Clark to arrive, April felt a couple of butterflies in her stomach. She just hoped that Xander and Clark would get along alright.

He's still getting his voice back, but all his muscles feel like they're as strong as Jello, and he just wants to lie in a relaxed heap on her bed forever. "Careful. Dad still has a shotgun," he teases.

April is more than content in laying beside him. Enjoying the proximatey of his naked and warm flesh.

"Oh yes, that. I wouldn't worry. I am using the ol' charm the Mother tactic so she can charm Dad for me."

He chuckles, mustering up the energy to idly stroke her shoulder with his fingers. "Good strategy. Think she'll be glad to have a daughter."

Leaning her head on his shoulder, April smiled. And more seriously mentioned, "And I would be glad to consider her a mother."

In all the excitement, Clark has nearly forgotten the pain of his parents being disappointed in him. "She's a great mom. I know she loves me just as much as she would've if we were blood-related."

April is glad that she had removed most of that pain. For now there is a delicate dance around the topic of parents to keep that pain away.

"Tops in both of our books." April kisses the top of his forehead. "Just like you are tops in my book."

He laughs a little, not in mockery of her, just an amusing thought. "If this is a book, I think we're officially a Harlequin romance."

"Definitely. I can picture you as the dashing farm boy with muscles showing on the front cover."

"You're definitely the sexy princess swooning in my arms, then."

He kisses her, glad that he doesn't have to move too much and mess up her handiwork, keeping him completely relaxed. "She has. Thank you."

Sliding closer to him, April purred "Good." And rested her head on his shoulder. They would be able to lay like this for a while, until Clark felt he had to return to his world.

Clark is in no rush to leave. Even though they have an incredibly long-distance relationship and yet can see each other whenever they want to, he still cherishes being able to just lie next to her, spending time in each other's company. And knowing that time will stand still at home, waiting for his return, he's more than comfortable taking his time.
