day meme: a day I will never forget
Day 08 – A moment, in great detail
It had been night when I first returned to my birth dimension, after escaping from Qua-Toth. And because I had lived in the 'Darkest of Worlds', I had naturally assumed that the night sky would remain.
Until the approach of dawn brought the most wonderful and amazing colors to the horizon. At first I didn't understand what was happening, and there had been a slight (and silly) fear that the world was burning.
But there was no smoke. And the golden-reds of the blaze seemed to cover miles and miles, and got brighter and more majestic as I watched it. I was hardly able to take my eyes off the sight, even though one shouldn't look directly at the sun, and simply I did not know any better.
When the sun fully rose, it filled me with such light and life, as it gave the rest of the world around it. For the first time I felt free to accept my human nature, especially since I would be able to embrace such light every day without having to be concerned with the vampire weakness to daylight.
There are no words to explain how exactly that sunrise made me feel. I remember crying simply because it had been so beautiful. And as I had been alone during that moment, I danced. Simply because of the joy that filled my heart and my soul. It was at that moment that I knew I had returned to a human-dominated world, and that I could restart my life with the same energy that the beautiful glow of sunlight had given me.
To this day, the different ways that the sun could rise and cast light onto the world is still a beautiful sight. And I appreciate it every time.
