kidnapped by Demons: the rescue
after finding Clark Kent in the Nexus, the Lister demon returned to the castle in the Black Forest Mountains, guiding the hero to a servant entrance. It was out of the way, and notice of the dozens of The Scourge soldiers on parade in the main square.
Once inside the castle, the Lister demon took Clark to the kitchen, where other Lister demon servants were working hard at a feast.
From the kitchen, the Lister demon opened a dumbwaiter and gestured to Clark to get in. "This will take you to the dungeon. Where Miss April is being kept."

The limitations of speech for her fall into a series of soft exclamations, gentle sighs and whispered praises. Something new and exciting comes over her as all that tension builds, then releases like the waves around them.
And the moment lapses into heavy breathing and panting and amazed wonder.

Her breathing will take a little longer to steady, as will the pounding of her heart. But when they slow, April manages a soft affectionate chuckle.
There are many ways to describe how Clark made her feel, and yet they seem all so unappropriate. As the words themselves are not quite good enough. One thing is for definite, she won't be using the Superman term, even though it does make the list of qualifiers.
"Mmmmm my Clark."

He wants to tell her how good she makes him feel, how happy he is at this moment, how he feels like he wants to stay in this moment for days on end. But the words just aren't enough, so he settles for focusing on his feelings, broadcasting them as best he can to her, letting her feel the love in his heart right now.

Then his thoughts are broadcast, sending her on another pleasure cruise, this one all mental. The love, light and security in Clark's emotions are enough to keep her warm for the rest of her days.
"What was that symbol for soulmate again?" She whispers.

That is until the rune on her shoulder glows brightly. And the amazement and wonder of being in Clark is renewed in April all over again.
When she turns to look at the rune, to understand what had happened, she gives a slight gasp noting it has been changed. The krypton symbol for soulmate is now there. Where it will last forever.

"Its... what I had wanted."

April looks forward to her future with this man.
"You and I must be magic together."

"Guess we'd better share, then." They've more than proven that they are good at sharing, of many kinds. They don't have to fight for control, battle for dominance over each other, prove which one of them is the stronger. They don't feel the need to exercise that power over each other, and he loves her all the more for it.

"You Clark Kent are my future."

"Good."
They have been in the ocean for a couple of hours now. And April's skin is starting to prune slightly, and tan too. (One benefit is that she won't have any tanlines).
"Its getting late. And I... don't want to be alone tonight."

Holding her against him, he slowly rises up out of the water, drifting through the air towards the beach, water running down and dripping off their feet. He sets them down on the blanket that they discarded earlier, which only has a little sand on it from the blowing wind, avoiding getting most of it stuck to their feet.
"Do you want me to spend the night at your place?" he suggests quietly. Not sure if she wants to go back there so soon, where she was taken from her doorstep. "Or should we go someplace else?" If she feels better with him standing guard over her tonight, he'll do it in a heartbeat. He's absorbed more than enough sunlight today to protect her overnight.

"My place will be fine." April had not been taken from the apartment itself, just the hallway outside.

He eyes his sopping wet jeans, half-hanging off his hips, wondering if he should try to use heat vision to at least stop the dripping before they can get back to her place.

"Don't worry about clothing for now," April uses the blanket as a wrap around her wet body. "We can throw everything in the dryer at my place."

He zips up and buttons his jeans, giving the legs a quick once-over with heat vision to reduce it to mere dampness, faint wisps of steam rising from the fabric. He picks up his PINpoint, glad that no sand has gotten into the device, and enters the coordinates for her apartment.

"To touch me." That much must have been obvious. Leaving the beach with fond memories, they soon enter her apartment. There is a moment when April has to collect herself, feeling so good to be home again.
