kidnapped by demons: strength of mind
Locked in darkness for 12-hours because of the spell that had been cast on her, April finally awoken to the world around her. First came the sounds and then slowly her eyes adjusted to her new surroundings.
The Scourge had taken her to one of their fortresses, a castle hidden away in the Black Forest Mountain Range.
Currently April was sitting at a large dining table. At the other end of the table was The Scourge general, who stared at her like a prize. The chair in which she had been placed had steel clamps that confined her arms and her legs. The gift of aura sight also gave April the knowledge that there was a magical spell on the clamps, and thus resisted the urge to struggle.
Her outfit had been changed, to one of a Victorian-style. It was slightly discomforting to know that someone had dressed her, especially since April's breathing was limited because of a very tight corset.
The general made a motion to the door, and April watched as servant after servant started bringing in an assortment of food to the table. She was hardly surprised to see that the servants were half-demons, and that they were chained to each other, giving the impression that they too were being kept at this castle against their will.
April watched carefully as a plate was set for her, and ignored the continued gaze of The Scourge general. Something in the aura of the half-demon who had set the plate caught her attention, for April knew that the creature would be able to help her in time once the two of them had a stronger connection. It would just take a little time. Talking to the half-demon, when they were not being watched so carefully by The Scourge general.
Movement from the general brought April's attention back to the table. He had ordered his servants to fill his plate and took a mouthful before talking to her. "Well well well... my little princess. I am so happy you are able to accept my invitation to dinner. And I am so glad you accepted to stay for a while princess, so we can become better acquainted."
The half-demon who had set her plate was now filling it with a mushy oatmeal-like gruel. It seemed obvious that April would not be allowed the finer foods until she accepted the generals terms. Something she would not be doing any time soon. In fact she even turned down the offered gruel.
"Not hungry, my princess?" The general looked over at her. "You will be. After a couple of days, you will be begging me to feed you. And if you are a really nice girl, we will rid you of that pathetic human curse on your shell, and you could dine on many delights. Blood and power, princess. I promise you blood and power once you become mine."
"I refuse to play your little games." April replied coldly. She was very aware that the general was attempting to coerce her with this set-up.
"We shall see Princess..." He laughed and returned to his meal. "We shall see."
