There was much to do in LA, now that the zombires were defeated and removed as a threat. People in the Buffyverse universe were believing in new opportunities again. The Seed of Wonder was returning hope and creativity to everyone.

And sure, not all the threats were gone, but the world was so much safe.

Today, April and Clark were helping fix houses, collect food for families, and help return society back to normal. April enjoyed this kind of work, hands-on work that helped everyone. She couldn't stop smiling...

Perhaps it was because she always knew that her world could be safer... and now it is getting there.

"It's good to know that the farm will be waiting for us, whenever we need it. Hopefully by the time Jonathan starts school, we'll be able to move back."

"I have missed the farm life..." Right now, even just laying in the dirt of the greenhouse feels nice. It is so quiet here. Peaceful.

"Me too. Our apartment is a great home, it's just different."

"I love the apartment. Especially since every now and then, I am visited by a sexy alien on the balcony."

"That's certainly a perk to the location." He kisses her, smiling.

"You know my weakness for sexy aliens."

[kalel_ofkrypton]

"Should I be worried that you're implying you've fallen for more than one?" he teases her.

[slayers_desire]

"Well that depends... if you count different aspects of yourself as different people, then definitely. If they are all a part of you, then just one."

[kalel_ofkrypton]

"I guess it depends on the circumstances."

[slayers_desire]

"I love your Clark Kent persona... the passion and dedication you show at the Daily Planet. Hearing people on the street how much they appreciate your approach to journalism. The man who is my husband. Who has pictures of Jonathan on his desk. Who is so adorable working at his desk, pushing up his glasses, that sometimes I just want to grab his tie and... well kiss him passionately."

"I love your Superman persona. The man who gave the whole world a reason to hope. Watching you take off in the red-and-blue inspires me to be a better person, and help those who are in need, no matter where they are located. Hearing people on the street how much you inspire them. How you have changed their lives. My secret lover in a way. Who is so handsome and dignified in all his missions."

"I even love your altered personas. Kal, who comes out when you are around red Kryptonite. The fact that he doesn't hold back for what he wants. His passion drives him to sometimes take risks, but it that risk-taking that I find so attractive. The fact that he desires me, and values me."

Clark is quiet for a moment, and then he kisses her, full of love and passion. "That was beautiful."

[slayers_desire]

"Definitely feeling inspired."

[kalel_ofkrypton]

"The Seed of Wonder is definitely working. Or we're just that good together."

[slayers_desire]

"Both. I think." Because they are good together. But their strong relationship definitely shone a lot brighter in his universe, or in the vampire village universe. At least it did, before the Seed of Wonder was returned.

He smiles a little, and there's a comfortable silence for a few moments as he simply enjoys being with her.

"We should probably get cleaned up," he says eventually, reluctantly.

[slayers_desire]

"Task reminder..." She teases him. But he is right. They still have other work to get to. Promises to keep.

"Spike is probably wondering where we've disappeared off to, if he hasn't guessed already."

[slayers_desire]

"He is pretty good at just knowing things." And that is without any 'voices'. April thinks it comes from all the time Spike had to help Drusilla understand herself.

She is dusty and dirty. She looks around, wondering if there is a sprinkler system where she could wash off before getting dressed.

Clark looks around too, and finds a garden hose coiled up near a faucet. "It'll be cold if the water's still running, but it's better than going back dirty."

"You do have heat vision... if it is too cold."

[kalel_ofkrypton]

"Doubles as a towel, too. It's faster than air-drying."

[slayers_desire]

She holds out her arms. "Then go ahead. Drench me."

[kalel_ofkrypton]

Clark angles the hose so he can apply a constant stream of heat vision to it as it sprays out, heating it so it's more like a warm shower, not hot enough to steam but warm enough to be pleasant. "Let me know if it gets too hot," he says, since he has to consciously not heat it to the point of boiling away entirely.

The warm definitely feels nice. And April quickly ensures that all the dirt is washed from her body. "This is perfect."

When he's sure that she's clean, he angles the hose towards himself, rinsing the dirt and dust away. The last step is to gently heat them both, evaporating the last of the water from their bodies. Except for his own hair, of course, since he can't look at his own head.
