There was much to do in LA, now that the zombires were defeated and removed as a threat. People in the Buffyverse universe were believing in new opportunities again. The Seed of Wonder was returning hope and creativity to everyone.

And sure, not all the threats were gone, but the world was so much safe.

Today, April and Clark were helping fix houses, collect food for families, and help return society back to normal. April enjoyed this kind of work, hands-on work that helped everyone. She couldn't stop smiling...

Perhaps it was because she always knew that her world could be safer... and now it is getting there.

"Nope. Can't get your other clothing dirty after all."

"I might get you dirty too," he says, full of false innocence.

[slayers_desire]

"Then I better remove my clothing. All part of the evil plan."

He's thinking of bad puns about dirt, and that they might not be back as soon as he promised Spike, as he undresses April first with his eyes, then with his hands. His own clothing, what's left anyway, rejoins his shirt in being draped over the handle of a wheelbarrow.

Their promise to Spike is one of the last things on April's mind right now. Her hands run over his body and she moves close to him. Both of their words are safe from great dangers. They have a beautiful little boy. And a loving marriage. This seems like a perfect way to celebrate all of that.

And to celebrate that she can still turn his eyes golden.

Clark kisses her deeply, moving with her, celebrating the closeness of their relationship. They have been through such hard trials, both in their shared world and in hers, and they have come out all the stronger for it. He has never loved her more than he does right now, and he never for a moment takes it for granted.

There are moments, which she shares with him through the bond, where she remembers the trials of The Mother. The memory of not knowing him. The memory of being lost to him. The memory of his sacrifice to experience her pain. The memory of him standing up for her... loving her.

Their relationship continutes to grow and be strong. And she knows that their love can face anything. They are together.

"I love you."

"I love you too, April Kent. No matter what happens, no matter where we go." And he's so glad for the bond, that they passed the test and restored their connection, because he wouldn't ever want to be without it. She means the world to him, and would gladly go through the Mother's trials a dozen times again if he had to.

"I am excited for this new adventure we are taking together. I see you with Jonathan... and just feel that our family is going to be strong too."

"No matter how many children we have, or when the next one comes along, it's because of you that I know we have a future together as a family. My people live on through us, and I'm so proud to call you my wife and soulmate."

April snuggled up to him. Enjoying the sunlight on their naked bodies. The feeling of the dirt underneath them. She was so happy to have a future with him.

"I am so proud to call you my husband and soulmate."

He smiles and kisses the top of her head, enjoying the warmth of the sun and of the woman at his side. "We're going to have a great family."

[slayers_desire]

She closes her eyes. The way she words things seems like it is more than hopeful optimism. "A wonderful family. Smiling children who are always happy to see us. Who feel comfortable in telling us anything. With lots of love, respect and understanding."

"They'll be good kids. I can't wait to meet them, too."

[slayers_desire]

It is nice that her voices provide her the warmth and knowledge that they will have a strong, happy family. But no actual details. That would feel like cheating.

"And since we agree to try again..." Her hand runs down his chest. "We can start thinking of names again."

The temptation to peek ahead is sometimes a strong one, but Clark is content with the hints they've gotten along the way. "Do you have any in mind yet?" he asks, running his fingers through her hair.

[slayers_desire]

"Not yet. This isn't like last time, where time travel gave us some assistance." She smiles when he strokes her hair. She always likes it when he does that.

[kalel_ofkrypton]

"Maybe since we named Jonathan after my dad, we could look at names on your side of the family," Clark suggests. She doesn't have many names in her family tree, but neither does he.

[slayers_desire]

"I am in a better relationship with Father. But I don't think Spike Kent would be on the top of my list... maybe his original name. William."

[kalel_ofkrypton]

"William... that's a good name. And it's my grandfather's name, too. I bet Mom would approve."

[slayers_desire]

"Then it would be a good fit." She kisses him passionately. There is a moment of quiet contemplation, before she speaks again. "I think I would want more time to come to terms with my memories of my mother before using Drusilla as a name. I still like Laura."

[kalel_ofkrypton]

"Okay," he agrees. "That's definitely understandable. We'll keep that name in reserve, and hope we don't have twin girls next."

[slayers_desire]

"You just cursed it... if I have twins it is all your fault now."

[kalel_ofkrypton]

He laughs a little, looking innocent. "It would only be half my fault," he teases her.

[slayers_desire]

"Nu-uh. All yours. And you would just have to be my on-call pregnancy demand answerer again. Twice as much."
