Video: Dark Oak thanks the public
The public had voted to repeal the Vigilante Registration Act. The Justice League had learned that there were thousands of people who trusted them, believed in them, and recorded very personal messages of hope and belief to ensure the VRA bill was repealed. A few days later, the Justice League sends out a message of thanks from their members. This was Dark Oak's:
The video camera is aimed at her masked face, mostly in the shadows because that is how Dark Oak worked to protect innocents.
"Firstly, I wanted to thank everyone who took the time to vote on the Vigilante Registration Act. No matter which way you cast your ballot, you made history by speaking your voice and allowed democracy to work the way it should work. It showed that all of us had opinions on the Act, and that all of us wanted what we thought was best for the future of our country."
"For those that voted to keep the VRA bill, I know that you have fears and worries and I hope that you will ask questions to gain a better understanding of why the Justice League and other vigilantes do take up the mask. The Justice League and its affiliates are here to serve you."
"For those that voted against the VRA bill and recorded all those personal messages and testimonies, thank you. I am glad that we touched your lives and that we were able to protect the ones you loved. We work with the other heroes out there, the police, the firefighters and the ambulance responders to ensure the best quality of life for all those that we can help. We want a better future for the next generation."
At the words next generation, the camera pans out, so it can be seen that Dark Oak is pregnant. Even though the shadows around her still cover her features.
"I, like you, want the best for the future. For my child. For all of our children. I am glad that my child will be able to be accepted for who they are, no matter if they have powers or don't. We are all special in our own way. And I know that together we can build a stronger future for all."
"Thank you. All of you."
