visiting the Nexus greenhouse

After making all the important arrangements with those that operate the Nexus greenhouse, April is finally able to send Finn an invitation.

Using his contact information, she sends him the PINpoint address of the greenhouse. "Come on down to the greenhouse. The flowers are waiting."

"All dressed it is then." April finished with her watering. There were not many plants that needed it with the efficient system the greenhouse had.

Finn examined one of the more exotic plants. It was beautiful. He looked down at the base and noticed one of the flowers had fallen off. Such things happened with new growth. He picked the dead flower head up and blew on it. The color returned and it became vibrant again. He offered it to April.

With a smile, April took the offered flower head, then placed it into her hair. "You have an amazing mutant talent, Finn."

"That's the least of what I can do." he chuckled. "They think you're pretty by the way." He motioned to the plants.

"Do they now?" April smiles. She is sure that to the plants, she pales in comparison to 'Aunt Pam'. But she will happily take the compliment.

"What else can you do?"

"Well I can talk to them and control them and make them grow and manipulate them. I can shake loose spores that can cause allergies to act up and cause drowsiness and sleep. I can thicken and harden my skin and grow thorns to protect myself. I'm also immune to toxins and can secrete various types of my own with varying effects."

"Wow. There is a lot of those abilities that aunt Pam shares. But she is no mutant." April finds a place to sit on a bench. "That thorn-growing ability sounds really cool."

"I haven't had to use it much, but believe me when I tell you not many people want to beat up a guy covered in thorns. Especially when he can shoot them." he laughs.

"Now that is especially useful." April helps a small ivy plant from being knotted at the bottom of the bench.

"It has been in the past." he nods.

"So what's it like to be a vampire?" Was that a weird question?

"Different. I imagine I go through the same difficulties with normal people that mutants do."

"I have enhanced strength, speed, agility and healing. I can also take on the beast, forming fangs and red eyes."

"Handy abilities. Do you get bonkers when you go beasty? Or is it just really sexy and stuff like in the movies?"

"I can control the beast. And I haven't had any tell me I was sexy..." She takes a breath, then shifts into the vampiric form. "You tell me."

It took him aback a little, but the fangs were definitely kinda sexy.

"Yeah... sorta sexy. Scary, but sexy."

"The greatest gift for the vampires in my world, is that their bite is quite pleasurable. Makes it easier to feed."

"But of course," She smiles with the fangs. "Not everyone sees it as a blessing."

"Like the people who end up dead because not all vampires have a soul like you do? Well at least they get to go happy, right?"

April nodded, then shifted back to her normal form. "It is a complex situation."

"So do you turn people or just feed off them? If it feels good, your boyfriends must be happy campers." He chuckles. "Were your parents vampires? I didn't know vampires could have kids. How did you end up with a soul? Tell me to shut up if I'm being to personal."

"Me personally? I drink pigs or cows blood. I have seldomly fed off a human, without their permission."

"A vampire can turn a human into a vampire. It is a long, exhausting process."

"My mother was a enhanced human. My father was a vampire. Most vampires can 'have' kids, but I was an unique creation. And most vampires don't have souls. But once again... unique situation. And is all connects to a destiny that I am able to fullfill."

"Wow. That's a lot of info." He mused. It was cool that she was willing to share that with him.

"My blood probably tastes like fruit punch." He joked.

"Because I'm practically part plant... And I have to hope I taste better than brussels sprouts." He teased.

"Maybe it would be more like cucumbers or celery. A non-taste."

"Well now I'm curious to let you bite me and find out." he laughed. "I'd be scared of toxins in my blood that might hurt you. I'm not sure if it's in my blood or I can just secrete it."
