Still no answer. The Fortress is cold, but not quite dangerous yet, with the crystal structure blocking the Arctic air. Though Kryptonians can spend as much time as they please here without needing a heated environment, the main center of the Fortress is protected slightly, enough to make human visitors or invaders uncomfortable without putting them in danger. At least, not unless they prove to be hostile, at which point the Fortress defenses kick in.
