Things had continued to be quiet for the most part, as Rain continued to watch over the changed April, in the fact that she had sacrificed time with her soul for him. The vampire April had been not as violent as one might have predicted. But there was a lot she had learned in the 72 hours of having control of the form she usually shared with human nature.

It was almost time for the spell to be complete. One hour was left.

And it was that hour that might become the most difficult for Rain to deal with. For suddenly, with no reason, April collapsed to the ground, holding her head and crying out in pain.

Rain rushed to the side of the cage, fumbling with the key. "April? What's wrong."

April was unable to respond. Her whole body crumbled in a fetus-position, as she groaned to the pain.

"What the fuck..." he said, unlocking the cage and pulling her out. "April.. talk to me."

The pain was so strong, that the Beast immediately lashed out in reaction to being touched. Rain would have to handle a fury of nails scraping at him and being hissed at.

Rain got tagged across the chest, blood rising to the surface under his torn shirt. He moves quickly to avoid getting struck again.

The smell of the blood strengthens the Beast. It attacks again. Leapign towards him.

She catches him, Rain falls on his back, struggling.

The Beasts leans in as to bite him... then recoils fast. His warding necklace saved him in the nick of time.

Whimpering, the Beast huddles in a ball again.

Rain kept a careful eye on her while he stood up and went to get one of her books. He flipped through it, trying to figure out what she needed because she certainly wasn't going to tell him. All she wanted to do was eat him.

Reading through through the book, which seemed to be April's diary, Rain might note that in the last part of the book there was some more details about the Limbo transfer. It mentioned how difficult returning the soul to the Beast would be.

And painful for the Beast.

Rain looked farther, trying to see if there was anything he could do to ease it for her. He really was quite useless lately.

Rain's doubt in himself would be contrasted by the glowing reports in April's diary. In how much he had grown since she first met him. In how much he has improved in the field. And even in comparing him to old records held by Buffy, that Rain has squashed flat with his accomplishments during training.

He does find some information about traveling into Limbo, where he could face a challenge to make the soul trasnfer easier for April.

Rain almost feels guilty reading April's journal but he wanted to be able to help her if he could. When he finds the information about Limbo, he decided to do it.

He would need to do a ritual to inact the spell. It contained items that he would have to find in the storage area.

But judging from April's condition, he might want to ensure she is unable to leave the complex first.

He didn't really want to touch April again, because he didn't want to hurt her but he had no choice. He knew she was going to lash out, but he tried anyway. "Come on April, I need you go get back in the cage so I can help take away your pain." he touched her shoulder.

The Beast did lash out at the touch, but this time Rain should be ready to react.

React he did. He figured the less damage he did, the better. He sidestepped and brought his elbow crashing against the base of April's skull.

The attack brought her right down to the ground, unconsious, but healing all ready. It would be easier to cage her now.

Rain dragged her to the cage, locking it securely.

After locking April in the cage, Rain was able to go into the storage area and collect all the items he would require for the ritual.

Rain gathers up everything, then brings it back into where April is. He sets it on the floor and starts reading up on what he has to do.

The ritual was very basic, and in time Rain had the portal open and was staring into Limbo.

There was a voice from the beyond. "Who calls me?"

He stares deep into Limbo. "Um.. me. Uh.. Rain. Rain Spencer." he replies cautiously.

"And why have you summoned my, Rain. Rain Spencer." Limbo is very literal.

"My girlfriend is a vampire and she kinda gave up part of herself to help me get some time with my deceased parents. Now she's in a lot of pain and I want to help alleviate it."
