distraction seems to be a good idea at first

For the last week or so, April has been burying herself into university life. Things had certainly gotten active enough at Kansas State after the Winter Break. There was plenty of classes to get distracted by, as the young woman started a new semester. Her marks were strong enough from the first semester that a couple of her art professors were recommending art scholarships to April. But of course, the young woman was hesitant

After all, she had no past in this universe. It would be difficult to apply for a scholarship without a previous school life. Or information on her family. Or any of that important stuff.

The decision weighed heavy on her, mostly because the money would be well spent helping April handle her university tuition. And that weight added to the pain that was already on her heart due to the fact that April was still mourning the death of Jonathan, and dealing with the fact that she herself had died. Sometimes the haunting memories of her death woke her at night. They were never quite clear, as the memory never took place, but still kept her wondering.

Tonight, April sat in front of her canvas to express her emotions. She reflected on the strength in her heart, thinking both of her boyfriend and their shared symbol of the oak tree. Using her paints, April recreated the memory of the costume worn by Future-Clark, and how he still had that fire and passion that captivated April's interest in her own boyfriend.

When she was complete, April had a small portrait that could be well-hidden on her desk. It wasn't anything she could share with anyone from this universe. But it helped. It reminded her that there was a future worth working towards. And that this storm was yet another that April and Clark would have to withstand. Each in their own way.

Time would heal their wounds. The reminder of the love she shared with Clark that now sat on her desk would allow April to take as much time as she needed. Their love was one that would handle time apart, and hopefully bring them back together when it was appropriate.
